Many of us have experienced the power of prayer but there are times when we have what those of us in education call "Ah Ha Moments". I had one such moment this past week.
I have been battling a nasty cough this week. I have cold-induced asthma and if I get into a cycle, I can wheeze and cough for months. Earlier this week I was barking.... I mean coughing away while trying to talk to Kbird in chat here at CB. I was wheezing away and my temperature was slightly elevated. Although it was not high enough to be considered a fever, it was higher than normal and climbing. I was glad I was online because that throat of mine was starting to feel like sandpaper!
It was getting late and my throat was feeling pretty rough. We had started our goodbyes when suddenly, I felt something. I sat upright trying to figure out what had just happened. Strength flowed through me, my throat stopped hurting and I felt alert.
I placed my fingers on the keyboard and started to type out a message to Kbird about how someone must have been praying for me at that moment for something had happened. Before I could send it heard the little blip in chat as the message Kbird had been typing popped up on the screen. Tears filled my eyes as I read what she had written. It was a prayer for me. She had been the one praying for me and even as she typed it, God answered and touched my throat.
My cough lasted a bit longer, getting rid of all of the junk but my throat never hurt again. My voice came back and the cough is pretty much finished as well.
The prayer of a woman in New Zealand, stretched thousands of miles across the globe impacting a woman half a world away in Minnesota, USA. This is a part of the power of prayer.
I hope you feel better and we want to pray for you. I hope your ills are less today. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
