Since yesterday's news, God has been showering me with love notes. Actually, if we take the time to "be still" we get them a lot more frequently than what we generally believe.
It took a few minutes before I realized the full meaning of the words, "We have to to a stereotactic biopsy because it's too small to be seen with an ultrasound". I squinted to see the microscopic dots on a large blown-up image with a large arrow pointing at them. I shook my head. "How did you ever find something as tiny as that?" Unbelievable but of course, God saw them and He was going to let them stay hidden. They even discovered one more hiding behind the others after a couple more pictures. Oh, you can run but you can't hide!
This was my first love note. Nothing is hidden from God and nothing catches Him by surprise. This means He has already made provision for whatever we encounter. God was not going to allow these cells to form a tumor and He was going to make sure I knew it! Once I got home, it didn't take long for me to start receiving more love notes from God hand-delivered by His very own princes and princesses. Words of encouragement and love, prayers, hugs, etc. But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. Psalms 42:8 (NLT) Messages from CB brothers and sisters, church brothers and sisters, bc cancer survivor sisters, co-workers, friends and family made me feel the very presence of God enveloping me.
People stopped by my cancer survivor page when the emails notifying them of the update arrived. Some are complete strangers but they visit regularly. Something draws them to come back again and again. Perhaps I'll know why someday. People giving and receiving comfort. This is another love note from God, I am cared for and I am not without worth. I can pour out to others what God has given me. They can pour that out on others and so the cycle continues.
A cancer-survivor from cyberspace sent me a message. I went to her wall to reply and froze. There beside her wall were these words "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save." Zephaniah 3:17 I love that verse and at that moment, I happened to be listening to the song "God Is Mighty To Save" by Laura Story which is based on that very scripture.
My breast cancer cyber-sister was delighted when I told her. We have never met but we discovered we are not only bc sisters, we are sisters in Christ Jesus. Praise God!
Love notes from God. Often times they are very subtle. You have to take time to be still and then look around for them. When you do, you'll be sure to find them for He delights in leaving them for his princes and princesses. It is glorious to be loved by God! Truly, perfect love casts out all fear!
