It wasn't very long before I discovered that although CB is truly a monitored site, it was not staffed by a large group of people. It was in fact, staffed by only one person. Six years later, I still stand in amazement at how one man is able to do all the things John does to keep this site running and safe. Thank you, John.
We must always remember that before God allows us to “go into the furnace”, He goes there before us, preparing the way. On that hot July night, I had no idea that just four months later, I would enter the darkest and most difficult period of my life and in many respects, I am still going through it.
Life threatening illnesses, disability, the loss of my career, the loss of my spouse's job of more than 27 years and the financial crisis which often is involved with those things have been a part of my life during the time I have been at CB. Yet over and over again, God has used this place as a means to bless me (more than words could ever describe) and I hope, for me to bless others. That's the motto of CB you know.
ChristianBlog.Com is a place where you can be blessed and bless others!
I have to say that in my case, it has done just that. I have been blessed time and time again by the members on this site. Some of the members here have become my dearest friends. I have not just been blessed by their words. I have also been blessed by their prayers and support as I have faced some pretty difficult challenges.
At the same time, I am very thankful that I have been able to share my challenges and victories with others. The knowledge that I may have done so makes every struggle, every challenge more than worth it.
The world today has become consumed with egocentrism. This “disease” also infects the Church. We are far more concerned about what we can receive rather than what we can give. Even so-called Christian service has been tainted by this as it becomes more motivated by putting feathers in our cap and patting ourselves on the back than it does about true love and service.
Those of us who blog at CB are not merely bloggers. We are Christian bloggers. While this certainly does not mean that everything we write must be “religious”, it does mean that our words should reflect Jesus Christ. Rather than seeking to condemn and destroy others, our words should be words of hope which rescue, strengthen and encourage people.
As I begin my sixth year here at CB, I realize God has given me (and all of us) a powerful tool in the form of CB. Are we using it merely for ourselves or our own ego or are we using it for God's honor and glory? Are we givers or are we just merely receivers?
Hey Kathy, it has been a great blessing to know that you have been both blessed and have blessed others over the last few years that you have been a blogger here at ChristianBlog.Com!
You, and others too, have certainly been a blessing to me as well, K . I'm so glad I found this site, and I want to commend John for all he does and also for how well he monitors CB. We are each, as members, blessed to have him at the helm of this site.

Thank you more than I can express for sharing your challenges and victories with us here. It always amazes me to read of how God has worked in your life, as well as in your husband's. I have been "blessed" more times than I could even count with the memories of how God has helped both of you to prosper in Him. And "how well" I remember, too, how God answered the prayer that "you" prayed for me. I'm teary-eyed now just thinking of it. God bless you always!
Love in Christ...
Truly, CB is a blessing beyond words.
I thank God in my daily prayers for CB. I thank God that He led B2Y here and that I joined only because B2Y wanted me to communicate with his friends here when he was in the hospital. I thank God I did that, for I never left, and I too have been blessed beyond what I could ever have imagined. I absolutely believe it was God answering the faithful fervent prayers of CB members that brought B2Y back from the brink of death. I believe that with every fiber of my being. I am so very thankful...
Never would I have ever guessed that this blogging thing of my husband's would lead to the friendships and bonds that have formed ~ and even to having you and your hubby visit us here at the B2Y ranch, several times...
When are you coming back?
God is so
and blessings, blest

This sentence hit me as I have thought along these lines many times. Thanks for being a blessing to me.
Some would dare say that all the woes in your life the past six years are the result of joining and sticking with CB. I would dare say that God knew those woes were coming and that is why He led you here to become established within this beautiful community BEFORE they began. God is and always will be SO COOL!
I truly feel sorry for those who have come and gone and proceeded to be "eaten alive" by circumstances beyond their ability to handle. I feel badly for those who allowed petty disagreements to drive them away from this wonderful site. But, I rejoice that people like yourself have stuck with CB for six years and not just as a bystander but the most active member on this site.
See, although I may have a few more blogs than you (you are catching up quickly) and more views, you have a bazillion more comments and have been a true leader here at CB for years. Back in the day you moderated a huge women's group and of course our beloved "survivor's group". You have faithfully left comments, tested new features and watched over the chat room for years.
Christian Blog would not be what it is today without all you have done, through the good times and the bad, for six years. On behalf of the CB community, THANK YOU!
Happy Anniversary and
Blessings 2 You!

I believe that as well, B2Y.
My heart's desire has been to serve here and though I might be a bit battered now, I am very grateful that God still permits me to do so. It is a blessing to me.
Thank you for all of your encouragement and support over the years, my friend.
I been waiting about this comment, and it is time. It will be long-winded, so, sorry K . I have witnessed on many occasions wherein you have come in at the proper time. As your blog here is. You are a great asset to this site, and John is blessed that you are here. You encourage, and let people know you care at the proper times, as you have done with me personally. I praise and thank God for your presence here. Amen to all B2Y wrote.
And then there is B2Y. I doubt that he knows how much he has blessed me, really, us guys just don't do that stuff... Within a few months of my joining here, I hit some turbulence on this site. Yes, I was helping in that turbulence too . I thought seriously about leaving. B2Y came down to Tennessee and personally visited with me. That meant a lot, more than I can write or say. He is a big reason I am still here. He has blessed many. As has his wife blest.
Thanks to you each.
I have faith to believe that many who have chosen to leave, have only done so temporary. That many of them will be back and contribute much to this site. They left for a reason, and will return, in Gods time. But GOD will get the glory and honor when it happens. If I should leave, that will also be why, that God gets glory and honor, as it should be. Not any of us.
Some came in with perspectives and interpretations that just would not hold up with scripture as a whole. Many will probably do so in the future. I choose the kind of faith that believes that they will apologize, and some have, and we can ALL grow in the knowledge and maturity that God desires of us, all. Put any carnal pride, or zeal that got in the way, or such like, aside, and this site will be a blessing to them, and all the rest here, of the body of Christ our Lord.
Time, and space will not allow me to keep going, that would be disrespectful of your blog. John, this is a great place to blog, and to study, and encourage, and yes, learn, from each other. Thank you for all the time, patience, and effort you have put into this site. As well as technical expertise, that I will never understand . But, thanks.
I hope that this helps boost this site to new levels. I would recommend more than once. Hope it gets front and center for a while. God Bless. billy
I was lamenting to a friend recently my lack of time lately to blog, and he wondered out-loud why I continued to pay fees here at CB if I wasn't going to blog anymore.
First of all, all of us who blog have different reasons that we blog. -I basically blog as the Lord dictates, which is usually when He nudges me to document my Witness... but nevertheless... it is up to us as CHRISTIAN bloggers to SUPPORT a truly Christian-based blog website. CB has been a blessing to me, as have you.
Both of us have shared much through the nearly four years I have been a member here, and that is a big part of what sets Christianblog apart from other websites. This is not just another form of media that informs, tries to shape opinion, or educates... it has as part of its backbone, you, Kbird, Blest, B2Y, Bethy, and so many more that I can't get them all named here (without forgetting someone anyway! lol) that have been more than just bloggers. You all have prayed with me through difficult times, shared my disappointments as well as my good times. All of this is not part of proper internet behavior, but it is a proper part of Christian behavior by Christian Sisters and Brothers. -While some may claim this is not a church... it is the closest thing the internet will ever have to one, and I am proud to support it.
You all, my brothers and sisters of CB, have been a blessing to me.
God bless you all!
Alan aka Shadow
