Once there was a rich man with a fine farm. One year, the harvest was so great that he didn't have enough room in his barn for all of his crops. Hm... he contemplated what he should do. Ah ha! He had a brilliant idea! He would tear down his old barns and build bigger ones. Ones that were more suitable for a man of his position and wealth. Then he would sit back and enjoy all of the fruit of his labor for many years to come.
God calls him a fool. Then he informs the man that he will die that very night. Then what good will all of his wealth do?
Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God. Luke 12:21 (NLT)
Does our Heavenly Father own the cattle on a thousand hills? Absolutely! Do we have access to what we need when we need it? Of course! We are His children. However, we need to remember something very important in regards to receiving the blessings of God. They are not to be kept to ourselves. God blesses us in abundance, not so that we can build bigger barns and horde them, rather so we in turn may turn around and bless others. Just think! God allows us the opportunity to experience what He loves to experience... the joy of blessing others!
So, let's remember to stand before God with our hands wide-open. They are not only opened up to receive what He has for us. They are also opened up to pour out the blessings we have received upon others... and remember material blessings definitely are not the only ones! So, let's pour out our blessings upon the world today!
How true! It is astounding what God does for us when we give to others. We can never outgive God. Thanks for a great blog (written by a great giver) blest to call you friend...
