Thanking God For Sisters!

Last night, right as I was about to log off CB, I got a surprise. My friend Blest whom I have not chatted with in a few weeks, logged onto CB and came into... chat! HOORAY! I couldn't chat long as I needed to head off to bed soon but oh, it was good to have a chance to talk with her in real... well... nearly real time.

Later, I was recalling my visit to Blest and her husband Blessings2you this past March. I was remembering how I turned down their gravel lane. I'm sure they could hear me coming . As I pulled up next to their house, the front door flew open and out came Blest with her arms outstretched, waving at me. Before I could step out of my car, she was at my door, waiting to give me a big sisterly hug. There was no doubt that I was not welcomed. It is good to feel welcomed!

I do not have any sisters. This was always a very sad thing for me because my mother has five! Oh what fun they have when they all get together. My husband was an only child and my brother has never married so I do not even have any sisters-in-law.

However, God being God has blessed me with a few very close sisters. I am so thankful for the sisters God has given me like Blest, Kiwibird and some others here at CB as well as some sisters close at hand. It is a joy to do life with them and I hope they find it a joy to do life with me as well!

I can feel your smile from here K.
But do you think anna and lily will come running with outstretched arms or with a big broom? Now THAT is the question .

But on a serious note, our sisters, praise God do not have to be blood sisters, though I suppose since we are covered with the blood of the lamb, we ARE all blood sisters.
HA you are related to me.. poor you.

My grandmother had four sisters. She was the eldest and was 13 months old when she got her first baby sister. When I was a girl, my grandmother lived with that sister and one other sister. What a time I would have when I would go and spend a week, or two, or three or more in the summer with them!

Yes, we must NOT forget brothers and brothers in the Lord. Over the past couple of years in particular, God has blessed me with some dear brothers in the Lord. During chemo, I remember one Sunday when I was at church, desperately leaning on my husband and I slowly and painfully hobbled in.
My heart ached for my husband for I felt he had such a heavy burden to bear! Suddenly, we were surrounded by some of the men from the mens group. One of them spoke to me and said, "We just want you to know... we're got you covered. We've got both of you covered and we're here for you."

I cannot tell you how much that strengthened me. A band of brothers was walking this road beside us! What a blessing!

Good morning K

You have such a very heartwarming blog about sisters. You made me realized how lucky am I to have 5 sisters. Now that we are older, we really have gotten close with each other especially when we lost our parents. But anyway, you may have no biological sisters, but God bless you with lots and lots of sisters here at CB. If you wish you could count me among them. God bless you and thanks again for this blog.

:) i LOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEE my sisters. my brothers go ok also, but there is something about the bond between sisters that is awesome!! I guess ive been blessed to have 4 sisters and we are all so different, however we are all soo alike and we love one another and would move heaven and earth for eachother. Hmmm where would i be without my little partner in crime, Jodie. U know, when i lived at home, we fought heaps and got angry real quick at one another, but within no time, we were back laughing at stuff and well... . being... SISTERS!

I got a card from Jods the other week and it had a really sweet quote on it.. hold on, i will go get it..

ok back :) it says " She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child' ohh. i love my sister. :) and i love my people who are soo close that i call them my sisters and my brothers. i figure with my best girl friend, the reason we arent sisters is because God knew our parents couldnt handle us both under the same roof :) Lovely blog K!! xx

Absolutely it is a joy doing life with you as we do it with God, as my friend (ahem, sister) K:princess: is fond of saying ;)
And, btw, we did not hear you coming (perhaps you didn't notice the 9845 fans b2y requires; we can't hear from one room to the next :) but we SAW you coming because we were WATCHING for you... ah, another great analogy... are we watching for the Lord as eagerly as we watch for a loved one's arrival ... anyway, when are you coming back??? Great blog, sis :) blest to call you sister-friend...
