Over the past few days, I've been hearing a song over the radio a lot. The name of the song is "Blessings" by Laura Story. In the song she asks the some tough questions
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears What if a thousand sleepless nights Are what it takes to know You re near What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We are so quick to dismiss this idea. We cry out that since God is good, He would never allow anything bad to happen to us. But what if those experiences draw us closer to Him? What if they cause us to better understand who God is? What if they those very experiences enable us to have empathy for those who are suffering in this world. What if those things make us "real" to the world around us?
Would it be worth it? I believe it is.
