The Promise Of The Rainbow

Yesterday, a friend sent me a picture they had taken of a rainbow. In part, my friend wrote: It was a reminder that just like He kept His promise then He will keep His other promises also. It was written all over the sky this evening that God is faithful.

God knew I needed that reminder at that moment...

2011 has not been an easy year for me. It has been a year filled with uncertainty about what the future will hold. On the other hand, it has been a year of blessing as God as provided for my husband and I every step of the way.

Rainbows are formed when the light from the sun shines upon droplets of water in the atmosphere. The most spectacular rainbows are those which are viewed against a partially darkened sky... when it is still raining. If there were never any clouds... never any rain... there would never be rainbows and I do love rainbows! God's light shines through the clouds, reflects off the raindrops and we have... a rainbow.

I live in a part of the world where terrible storms can spawn tornadoes. I have weathered some pretty severe storms and yet I have also seen gorgeous rainbows spread across the sky. Although it may still be raining, my focus shifts from the storm and onto the promise. The promise of the rainbow.

Without the rain nothing grows -without trials we do not grow.
I love Rainbows too!
