The Sufficiency of Grace

If there is a shadow I can't see it If this is my cup I'll learn to drink it If there is a purpose You'll reveal it But for today I found my place In the sufficiency of grace In the sufficiency of grace

--From the song Sufficiency of Grace by Greg Long

If you're like most people, your life has been filled with ups and downs as well as a lot of "ordinary" moments. This is called "life" and as Christians living in this world, we are not exempt from it. 1 Peter 1:6-9 (NLT) says:

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.

These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.

Imagine for a moment, being stripped of all the trappings of this world. Strip away your position, family, friends, church family, wealth, education and even your health. Hmm... it sounds a bit like Job, doesn't it.

If God allowed everything in this world to be stripped from you; would you still love and trust Him? Would His grace be sufficient or must you have His grace and something else like grace and power, or grace and wealth, grace and popularity or grace and health?

I believe His grace is sufficient for me.

2 Cor 3:5... Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

God does give an adequate supply. Something to be thankful for. Preach on and Blog away...

Certainly, as long as we have and walk in the grace of God, it matters little what else goes on (or doesn't) in life. Either we truly do believe that God and His amazing grace is sufficient or we don't. In reality, very very few Christians have a clue what you are talking about in this concise blog. The words might as well be written in Chinese.

Thanks for relentlessly sticking to your message, which is indeed one desperately needed.
