A little while ago, when I was listening to the radio, the song "Already There" by Casting Crowns came on. As I listened to the words, I was reminded of the times I have peered down a dark or rough path wondering what lay ahead. We've all been in that situation before and we will undoubtedly be there again before we leave this world. It is inevitable.
I turned to God's Word and read:
And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)
Do you notice that this passagedoes not start out by telling you not to be afraid?
1. It tells you who God is. He is the One who goes before you.
2. It tells you what God will do. He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
3. Then it tells you, do not fear or be dismayed (worried, disappointed or upset). Why? Because of who God is and what He will do.
