The Victor!

This weekend we remember both the darkest and brightest moments in history. Riding high on the events of Palm Sunday, the disciples were positive that they knew exactly how things were going to play out. Jesus would take his rightful place on the throne, drive out the Romans forever and they would all live happily ever after. God's plan was so much bigger than that. It always is, you know and most of us have good reason to be thankful that it is for the disciples' plan would not have included those of who are Gentiles.

Then came the darkness of Good Friday. The dream had turned into a nightmare. Just as it had so long ago back in the Garden of Eden when humanity fell. It had turned into a nightmare... or had it.

What had seemed to be the greatest defeat of all, the death of the Son of God was changed in a moment into the greatest victory there ever can be! The darkness was ripped apart and destroyed by the Light of the World, Jesus Christ!

Oh what joy! HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Because He lives, we can be set free from the bondage of sin. We do not have to be afraid of what the future holds for God has us! This past December when I faced death, He whispered these words to me "I am with you." He could whisper those words because... He is alive forevermore! Jesus is The Victor!

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15:55

One of my favorite songs is The Victor by the late Keith Green. This is a clip of him performing this song at Estes Park in 1978. Enjoy!

I have never put two videos in a blog before but I couldn't decided which one LOL! So, I am putting another oldie here as well. This is Easter Song written by Annie Herring (Keith Green added another verse). It was hard to find a video of this song as it is an oldie so please excuse the poor quality. The message though is as fresh and new as it was nearly 2,000 years ago.

Blessings!

Without the a doubt the resurrection was the single greatest event that happened in all of history. No other event even comes close to what Jesus accomplished when He was resurrected. Because of that, we can now be free of sin by trusting in His name! All thanks be to our LORD JESUS CHRIST!
