I was reminded today of why myself and others are here at CB and why we give. While the purpose of this site is blogging and I most certainly use it as a blogging site, it has gone far beyond and above that for a growing number of us. It has become a community where we are able to minister to one another in a number of ways. This is amazing since few of us have ever met in person and until recently had personal contact information at all.
This past week, while I was in chat with a few other members, Shani, who lives in Australia received word that her little sister was being rushed to the hospital. Shani of course, said a quick goodbye and was off. Those of us in the chatroom went into action immediately. I quickly posted a prayer request before popping back into chat and we began to pray.
Shani was able to send some periodic updates. We kept praying. I bumped into her late one night. She'd gone into chat while her sister who was still in the hospital, was sleeping. Although my friend was on the other side of the world from me sitting in a hospital room, I was able to "talk" with her, pray with her and hopefully be an encouragement to her. I was able to do all of that via CB. Praise God, Jodie is better!
Today, Shani posted a picture with a very special message from Jodie.
This was a sober reminder to me of what this place is really all about for myself and many others. This is why I am passionate about this site. I know there are others who are too. This is why we give.
Without a doubt K, this is the amazing power of ChristianBlog.Com! To touch the lives of people we will probably never ever see face to face while on this world... THAT happening every day is really what keeps me going day after day! Thanks for sharing this!
You know, we tend to get all fired up because someone blogs about baptism this, and predestination that, and assurance of salvation or not, faith versus works, KJV vs. NIV, passionate men vs. overworked women . . .
This, dear and my dear brothers and sisters, is what it's all about. The body of Christ at work and in action, in love, no borders.
Sweet Jodie, God bless you.
K, thank you very much for posting this follow up.
Proof positive that God is so Super Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.
Way to go Christian Blog for proving once again what this whole Christian walk is supposed to be all about.
Thanks for sharing this!!!
what can i say that sums up how appreciative i am of all the prayers and encouragement and support u have shown me the past week. I simply cant think of the right word, but please know that when i say Thanks, I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart. Sometimes its easy to get caught up in everything going on around us that we forget the important things, but how awesome is it too know that we have God on our team aswell as wonderful amazing prayer warriors such as yourself back here at CB. I may never meet you face to face, but im soooo thankful for you and your amazing heart for people and for His kingdom.
And there we have it...a photograph of one of the bravest kids around AND she is one of ours! Not by proxy, not by adoption, ...just one of ours. This is sooo what Christian Blog has come to mean to me through the love, the fellowship and the prayers of my brothers and sisters.
This photograph is getting stuck on my fridge to remind me of what we are all about!
I praise God for the work that John and the rest of the team have done in creating this site and ask God's richest blessings on them and their families. Keep our hearts and minds aware of the needs of this site and the people who come here Lord I pray.
