I was in my kitchen earlier this evening when I suddenly heard my cell phone ring. I automatically reached into my pocket before remembering that it was upstairs on my desk. I bounded up the stairs and raced to my desk only to hear it bleep. I had missed the call. I checked messages and groaned. It was from my friend Kiwibird otherwise known as Kbird.
She has been very busy as of late for she has been in the process of moving to a new community. Although I had talked with her a few days ago, I have missed my friend and was sorry I had missed her call. Quickly I returned her call, thankful that I had programmed her new phone number into my phone as redialing international numbers usually does not work too well.
I held my breath for a moment when the phone rang. What if she missed my call this time. We are twins you know!
Wait, a voice came over the line and... it was her!
What a time we had, chattering away as thought we were sitting next to each other instead of sitting nearly half a world apart!
Both she and I have faced some tough battles over the past couple of years. However, as we stood together and looked back over the road we have traveled together I have to tell you, we were rejoicing at the amazing things God has done. We "stood together" hand in hand, realizing that we never walk alone for God is with us every step of the way and sometimes, He invites some of His friends to join hands and walk with us too.
Always remember, the VERY best is yet to be!
You know K, every time I hear of you and your twin having fun my heart rejoices. My "twin" called me last week and promised it was only for two minutes... one and a half hours later I had to cry exhaustion and go to bed.
Its good to have someone to do life with, and isnt Jesus the best one to do it with? And isnt it fantastic that he allows us to have sisters and brothers here to walk along with us too.
I actually LOVE urs and Kbirds friendship!! its beautiful and you are both VERY blessed!!
Hah! Just wait till we are in the same country!
I rejoice more that anything in the conversations we have on the faithfulness of God. Oh that our eyes will always remain firmly fixed upon him.
You will have to be right there to grab me when I touch New Zealand soil for I fear we will need to make a run for it... I do not know what will happen when a Kbird and a K are in close proximity to one another. Hmm... exactly when were you in the U.S.? Of course, it is a very big country and you weren't actually in Minnesota so perhaps the distance was too great but hmm... I need to research this to find out if there were any "unusual" things happening. This will better prepare us for the possible effects this might in New Zealand when I arrive. ROFLOL!
