It is with heavy heart that I learned a few minutes ago that the founder and owner of Christianblog.com passed away peacefully in his sleep earlier this month.
I first stumbled across CB on July 29, 2007. My son had suggested that I write a blog. Not knowing how to do that, I simply typed in the words, Christian Blog and landed on the doorstep of CB.
I wrote a couple of blogs but when school resumed (I taught second grade), I became too busy to visit the site much. Then on December 3, 2008 I learned I had Triple Negative Breast Cancer. As I cried out to God, I found myself fleeing to CB as well.
During dose-dense chemo, I poured out my heart here on CB. As a semi-invalid, it became my link to the outside world. I met so many amazing people here, some of whom became my dearest friends.
@John Abela, devoted himself to this website. Few know of the great sacrifices he made to keep it operational. He worked on it tirelessly and tried to keep it a safe community for all. It would have been so easy to walk away but he didn't. Why? Because he realized this site had become a place to bless and be blessed.
I never had the opportunity to meet John face to face but I know I will someday. While he is now absent here, he is with the Lord!
His sister has gained access to the website now and it will be shut down in the near future.
Many thanks to you who have given your support through your prayers as well as financially over the years.
John, thank you for creating a place like Christianblog. It has blessed many over the years. Thank you for your faithfulness and thanking you for being a good and faithful servant who ran well and has finished the race. We will meet you at the Finish Line!
I write this tears in my eyes and a heavy heart as I had come to respect John and his endeavors to keep the site open despite the many adverse situations that he faced. I wished I could have meet him.
I feel slightly guilty has I was going to send him a message last week to check as I had a feeling things were not good. But his passing into glory never entered my head.
Well done John good and faithful servant.
I usually ring Les my Monday so will pass on the the news
