In the classic movie, It's A Wonderful Life George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) has the opportunity to see what life would have been like had he never been born. Although George did not realize it, he truly did have an impact not only on his world but the world-at-large. An example of this is the incident in which George saves the life of his younger brother Harry when they were children. His brother Harry would later go on to save a number of men during WWII. However, in a world in which George had never been born, all the men saved by Harry die for Harry was never rescued by George.
I do not believe that in this life we will ever realize the impact that we may have made on someone's life. As Christians, I believe we need to always be mindful that what we say or do is important for you see, God desires to impact the world through us. That is pretty sobering isn't it.
I am so thankful to those people who have blessed and enriched my life. Some of them do it every day, sometimes it is just someone who sweeps into my life and does what God has called them to do in that moment. Whatever the situation, I am very thankful to those who listen to God and let their light shine brightly in a darkened world, often ministering to others unaware. It truly does make a difference!
May we all grow more tender to the voice of God and impact our world for Christ in ways both great and small.
I can only add a hearty AMEN to that. I do think God wants for us not to know certain things. We humans can develop over sized egos very quickly.
