What God Has Promised

As I was going through a box of things today, I came across a card a friend from church had sent me nearly three years ago. It was entitled, "God's Promises To You:"

As I read these promises, tears filled my eyes for I can definitely say that God has kept every single one of these promises... even through the dark times.

"I will protect you..."

The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name." Psalm 91:14 (NLT)

Everywhere we go, the Eye of the Lord is upon us. It is impossible for us to be hidden from Him. When we are alone, when we are afraid we do not need to fear for we are under the protection of the King.

"I will comfort you..."

Sing for joy, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth!Burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on them in their suffering. Isaiah 49:13 (NLT)

Though our hearts are broken, though it seems like no one understands, He is our comfort and the source of our peace.

"I will give you peace..."

I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 (NLT)

He gives us perfect peace and we do not need to be troubled or afraid.

"I will listen to you..."

In those days when you pray, I will listen. Jeremiah 29:12
God just doesn't say He will listen to us... He actually does listen to us. He hears our every cry.

"I will carry you..."

I will be your God throughout your lifetime--until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. Isaiah 46:4 (NLT)

God does not just carry us once or twice. He will carry us for our whole lives.

"I will strengthen you..."

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

God and God alone is the source of our strength and there is nothing stronger than Him.

"I will give you rest..."

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

Jesus is our rest!

"I will be with you..."

I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20b (NIV)
We are never alone... never!

Of course these do not even begin to scratch the surface of God's promises but may you hide them in your heart so that you may be strengthened and blessed by them... and in turn strengthen and bless others.

Blessings!
