When God Whispers In The Night

Earlier today, I wrote a blog entitled Deliberately Letting Go in which I shared a struggle I had been facing for the past 10 days and had intensified over the past few days. I am very thankful for the prayers and support of my CB family.

A little bit ago, I decided I needed to clean out my purse. I decided that the best time to do this was when my husband was watching the Ultimate Fight Challenge and the best place to do it was to plop myself down right next to him and proceed to dump out the contents and do a running commentary of each item before placing it in the "keep" or "discard" pile. I decided that this was a good time to clean out my billfold as well. I was rather surprised to find a receipt for my car tabs (registration for you non-Minnesotans) wadded up in an unused pocked of my billfold that was dated December 2010 so I had to comment about that as well.

For some strange reason, my husband didn't seem to share my opinion that this was a good time and place for purse-cleaning. I can't imagine why, Every woman knows that like "nesting", purse-cleaning is instinctive and you must not fight against Mother Nature or else! biggrin.gif

His annoyance quickly changed to curiousity, however, when I let out a sharp cry as I turned over a rectanglar card and read the other side. I responded to his question by telling him that it was a bookmarker and then slowly read it to him.

"When life is tough, Lean on God!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

Call upon me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you. Psalm 50:15

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. Isaiah 41:10

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28"

"Where did you get that?"

"I don't know," I replied.

Obviously at some point in time it had found its way into the dark abyss of my purse only to see the light of day at a time when I needed to hear the still small voice of God. Often you hear it when you least expect it.

Blessings!

Delightful little story that brought a 'little' smile to my lips, for enjoyment in the simple things within a marriage.
