An expert in the law asked Jesus a question. What did he need to do to inherit eternal life. Jesus responded by asking him a question. What did the Law of Moses say? The man responded by saying:
You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, Love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27 (NLT)Jesus agreed but then the man had another question. Who was his neighbor? Jesus responded by telling the parable of the Good Samaritan.

The road to Jericho was a very dangerous road. It was a narrow road which twisted and turned. It was a place where an unsuspecting traveler could be attacked by thieves. Those listening to the story knew that very well.
Stripped of everything he had and left to die, this man's changes of survival were very slim... unless someone helped him. A priest saw him and crossed over to the other side, making his way around the wounded man. A Levite did the same thing but the Samaritan, a man hated and despised by the Jews, stopped and gave aid. He was being a good neighbor... he was showing mercy to a man who under other circumstances would have despised him and in all probability, passed him by!
Who is your neighbor?
