I've been absent, but not idle. The last two and a half months have been an adventure in seeking a closer and more intimate relationship with God that has been very rewarding. As I've done this inPRACTICE vs THEOLOGY - I have hit various obstacles. I don't think I'm the only one. It's been a delight. But who of us has an easy time navigating the waters of "Falling In Love With Jesus". There are some obvious obstacles - more for men than women, perhaps - but obstacles common to all of us- unless I am mistaken.
I have found the answer in God's amazing paradoxes - the impossibly opposite things he makes true at one and he same time - humbling us, amazing us, and - most of all - BLESSING us.
In this series, I'd like to help put you - the reader - on a sort of "fast track" to greater intimacy with God. I've been baffled, amazed, and - once again - wonderfully blessed. I pray that you will find your "drawing near" to Him - in far greater intimacy - much easier than it was for me in my path.
Not that you're not ALREADY intimate with God. All true born believers already have it in their DNA. But, since having a PERSONAL relationwhip with an ALMIGHTY AND INFINITE GOD is mind blowing beyond words - and seemingly INSANE - we can all use a little encouragement which removes some of the major obstacles. I pray you are richly blessed.
The paradoxes, of which I spoke, remind one of the amazing creativity one sees in a thesis, antithesis, and - finally - synthesis. But since God's paradoxes are far more amazing than the philosopher Hagel's puzzles, they are simpler for the childlike, and more baffling to the scholar. We must be broken, humbled, and then - finally - blessed.
I will explore the amazing fact that God is holy, infinite and far, far above the reach of the holiest of men. If anyone would see God, they would die. And yet He becomes a close and intimatefriend. We must embrace both of these opposites with all of our hearts if we seek God. When you slam these opposites together, however, an explosion of creativeenergy is released into your relationship with God.
We will explore how this works. We will always end with a very practical example or thought - one I myself encountered in a very plain and ordinary way. I'm not great holy man. I'm a loser and a failure - if it comes right down to it. But God is pouring rich blessing into my life which keeps me in worship and praise for hours on end - and which has allowed God to remove intense temptation from my life - OCD nutcase that I am apart from His Grace!
It's so joyful, if I don't share it I'll just POP. So, I'd better share it, don't you think?I hope you find as much pleasure in this as I have.
I dearly love you all, in our Lord Jesus.
I hope this will make Psalm 45 (the wedding Psalm), Song of Songs, and other passages of scripture very dear to you - and very practically effective in your life.
And now my precious time has come. I only will share what I must to convey what "Intimacy With God" looks like in MY life. Only God knows what it will look like - specifically - in yours. Most of what I share with God is kept in a sweet and personal secrecy - the kind our Lord Jesus recommends. It's between God and me.
But if you, like me, tend to fall asleep at the end of a hard, perhaps stressful, day - I recommend standing in God's presence. You might at least try it. Worship music will enliven your Spirit. Most of you know I love the peaceful worship of John Michael Talbot. But if you prefer the high energy worship and praise of Hillsong, Jeremy Camp, or Jesus Culture - more power to you (more amps - more volume as well I would guess). This enlivened state will allow you to sit in quietness and have fellowship with God that only thrives is quietness before Him. But, if God "sweeps you off your feet", do not be surprised.
And, now, that doesn't mean your crazy. Nor are you short on spontaneity and intimacy just because you don't waltz with God. But, please, dear ones - let your hearts YIELD to Him - whatever that looks like. Your prayers and intercessions will be SO VERY RICH if you do!
So I hear my Lord calling me unto Himself. It is my desire to please Him - to give Him all the worship, adoration, and intimate fellowship He most certainly desires!

Good point, for although this philosopher's dialectic method regarding thesis, antithesis, and synthesis seek to bring an amalgamative solution to all "philosophical problems," his method, as is the case with many philosophers, stems from an erudite mind that mightily pales in comparison with the mind of God and with His paradoxes.
Thank you for sharing this with us. Its depth is quite profound.
