Psalm 82a - My Lord and my God!

Psalm 82 - "My Lord And My God"

When Thomas the apostle saw Jesus - risen from the dead - with his own two eyes - he cried out,
"My Lord and my God!"

The Jews had a very hard time seeing the Messiah as truly divine. Jesus quoted this Psalm with the comment,
“Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are “gods” 'd ? 35If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came - and Scripture cannot be set aside - 36what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?" (John 10:34-36)

But Here's The Shocker
Honestly, I have NO PROBLEM seeing Jesus as God's Son and completely one with the Father. What's shocking is that He gives US to share in the Divine Nature.
In His final amazing prayer for us He says,

"20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one - 23I in them and you in me - so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:20-23)

"You shall be like GOD"
Satan tempted Eve with the temptation to be like God. (C.S. Lewis does a great job with this topic in his bood "Perelandra") Claims to divinity turn out to be vastly overblown - especially when we die.
This verse CAN, in fact, be applied to Adam and Eve. The temptation to be like God is the reason they ended up DEAD. One of the big issues God focusses on is that - FAR FROM BEING DIVINE OR LIKE GOD - we end up dead.

No. You are NOT a God!
Some religions imagine that we float around in some spiritual ether or something after we die. But what intelligent person can really believe that? When you die - apart from the Living Spirit of the Living God - you're DEAD - dead like a dog! God can resurrect you with a body that will never die - or with a body devoid of any goodness - fit for eternal judgement. But YOU ARE DUST! That's it!

No you're not going to come back as a butterfly or a seagull. Why do people believe such things? And those same people find it impossible to imagine that the Creator God can raise the dead.

YOU ARE NOT A GOD. You're made out of dirt - uh - and all the garbage you've eaten in a lifetime. HELLOFRITO!

Then you always have to love those Mormons. They think you'll evolve into another God. Some universe is going to be full of people singing, "Praise Roger! or Praise Louie!" Well, not if your black or female - only polygamous whitemales.

You've got to be kidding! No. They're not.

We're not "gods" - we live eternally IN HIM.
We share in God's divine nature - which makes a perfect scientific kind of sense if you accept that there's an immortal creator God. We believe exactly that for some very good reasons. Ask "Thomas" - just one of 500 eye witnesses of Jesus' resurrection. It's harder to NOT believe than to believe.

So we aren't gods - evolving from dirt into immortal Spirit. We're IN HIM - sharing in His Divine Life.

Religion sees this as DOCTRINE
This is REALITY - as real as the laws of physics and the air we breathe - or it's a lie. What's with RELIGION!? They believe this - in theory. But "Joe Christian" is often way more into the NFL than living in the Spirit. It's a doctrine to them - not their reality.

Westernized Christianity rejects the mystical and embraces intellectual concepts. Part of our philosophical Greco-Roman western heritage is to EXTRACT a CONCEPT and set it up by itself - apart from our actual life. So we believe we are Sons Of God. But we live like sons of men - at best - and sons of . . . uh . . not men . . at worst.

If we are really being allowed to share in God's DIVINE NATURE we should completely change our way of thinking and our pattern of life. The earthly should lose it's grip on us and the things of the Spirit should ENTICE us - like you're being enticed by Jesus right now!

Sneek peek: "What's the most powerful image of our spiritual UNITY with God?"

In the Image of God, Not the God , having the understanding of the Divine Nature, And having the understanding of Christ and the meaning of the Word ! By reason of the Concept : Precepts: Perceptions.

Having put the I in its place , I See you See ! As Let us reason together , by reason of the I the beginning of All Perception, Concept of the I between you and Me Which is Him Christ !
