"My Name is I AM"

~ My Name Is I AM ~

I was regretting my past and fearing my future.

Suddenly my Lord was speaking:

"My Name Is I Am"

He paused.

I waited. He continued,

"When you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard.
I am not there.
My name is not I WAS.

When you live in the future with its problems and fears,
its hard.
I am not there.
My name is not I WILL BE.

When you live in this moment it is not hard.
I am here.

My Name is I AM.

"and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen"
Matthew 28:20 KJV

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said,
Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Exodus 3:14

I did not write this beautiful little piece above, but it is certainly worth sharing and giving thought to it's message.

            "I was regretting my past"

How many hours have we spent in just this state of mind. How often do we forget our sins were forgiven and forgotten -put as far from us as the East is from the West. Yet we let the weight of the past return to us and burden us. Did we forget Christ bore that burden on the cross -we not longer have to carry that burden -He took it and bore it that our burden might be light.

             "and fearing my future."

Oh how we fret over what tomorrow will bring. What worries we have over so many things because we know not what tomorrow will bring. Did not our Lord say he would meet our every need. Did He not say if he cares for the sparrow and the flowers of field - how much more does He care for us.

Oh foolish child - leave the past with Jesus you can not change it and he no longer remembers it.

Leave the future with God - it will be just what He intends it to be.
Take His hand and walk with him in the NOW.

Spectacular and Simple!!!

What a great and needed truth for us all to lock our minds onto and remember.

Thank you for sharing this. As for me, I needed to hear this!

As I think about going in for my check next month to see if cancer has returned it is very tempting to stew about the future. I need to remember that the future is God's concern, not mine. Thanks for the reminde Poo. I am walking with God in the NOW!

This is really outstanding. I hope everyone reads it, and remembers. This blog (and, of course, God) can save us from so much heartache.

God is timeless, man is mortal.

God is in control, man is not.

God is strength, we are weak.

Great blog, Poo. One of my favorite verses is "Be still for I am God."
