A Stroke Put Into The Hands of Jesus

This morning, September 13, I saw my local physician as part of the follow up to having a stroke. At the end of our visit, my doctor said, “it is a rare thing to not have ANY side effects from a stroke. Congratulations.”

This was confirmation that I truly did experience a miracle. I had no side effects whatsoever as a result of suffering a stroke.

On the drive to Emergency at ISJ Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota, with my mind pretty much in a confused state (expressive aphasia). I prayed:

“Thank you Jesus for taking care of me and protecting me. I put myself into your hands.”

With pure belief and trust, I knew to the core of my very being that Jesus would do just that. I was calm throughout the whole experience. Jesus was right there with me, all the way.

Through my husband, Jesus saw to it that I would get to hospital Emergency in time to get the care I needed. I believe His hand was guiding the work of the clot buster (TPA) as it made its way to, plowed through and dissolved the blood clot in my brain. Jesus protected me from all effects to other parts of my body. He held me close to Him as I endured the battery of tests done to view what happened inside my brain and to search for the source of where the blot clot might have come from. His hands were upon, and still are upon, all the good things that happened and took care of anything that would have permanently brought damage to me physically or mentally.

My faith and its definition:

I believe and trust that when Jesus Christ shed his blood at the Cross, He paid the price for the forgiveness of sin. With the price paid, provision was made for the healing of spirit, soul AND body. His atonement for sin includes healing.

I believe and trust that I am a daughter of God and I belong to Jesus Christ. He paid for me with His blood. I repented of my sin toward God, gave my life to God, placed Him at the center of my life, and made the wholehearted commitment to follow and serve Jesus Christ for the rest of my life.

I believe and trust in the whole of God’s Word, the Bible. It is the authoritative truth from beginning to end. The Holy Spirit is my teacher and guide. I hunger for the truth of God’s Word.

I believe in and trust the teachings of Jesus Christ and His apostles. I believe and trust the promises found in God’s Word. I believe and trust what the Holy Spirit has taught me about God’s ways of healing.

The simple prayer I prayed had its roots in my deep beliefs and the inward trust I have in Jesus Christ and His finished work at the Cross. I knew deep inside that Jesus would protect and take care of me through this experience of suffering a stroke.

All glory to God, the Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ, my / our Healer.
