When you closely read Genesis 1, you see that God formed Earth first and prepared it for inhabitance by animal life and by man before the universe took shape and was filled with stars (galaxies).
Earth Formed Genesis 1: 1-13 summarized
Day 1 Earth without form with water needed for creation of life and to support life on Earth - Light created distinquishing Day and separated from darkness, Night - Time begins
Day 2 Dividing of waters forming atmosphere surrounding Earth
Day 3 Waters gathered together in one place to form one large mass of dry land and grass, herbs and fruit trees appear
Day 4-Sun, Moon and Stars Genesis 1:
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Since the sun and moon were not created until Day 4, Earth could not have been in orbit around the sun until the sun was put in place on Day 4 and the moon was not in place to orbit around Earth until Day 4. These lights to rule the day and the night did not exist before God formed the earth.
Also, the stars were put in place on Day 4. The conclusion appears to be: our Milky Way Galaxy and the other galaxies were spoke into existence on Day 4. The universe was formed and filled during the week the earth was formed and inhabited, which happened about 6,000 years ago as the lineage of Jesus tells us. And, each day of the Creation Week was a literal regular day, as Old Testament scripture informs us. See other blogs on these topics in this series. This is one of my favorite passages in Scripture, it talks about angels (sons of God) shouting for joy as they hear the morning stars sing.
Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the cornerstone thereof, 7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God (angels) shouted for joy?
God was talking to Job about His laying the very foundations of the earth. It indicates that angels were in existence and they shouted for joy when the newly created morning stars sang together. God said He made the stars also on Day 4.
An article in The Wall Street Journal dated October 10, 2010 by reporter Robert Lee Hotz states:
"The stars in the sky are humming to themselves. Astronomers recorded a chorus of immense red giant stars -- each hundreds of times larger than the Sun -- using NASA's Kepler space probe." They made the recording public during a press conference at Aarhus University in Denmark.
Click on the following for an interview with Hotz that includes a taste of the red stars in chorus:
(Please ignore the reference to the big bang and millions/ billions of years - God's Word tells us the truth!!!)
In a continuance of this discussion, my next blog will share more evidence supporting a young sun and moon.
