Noah's Ark and Worldwide Flood: Gulf Oil Disaster Is A Tough Reminder

The discussion in this writing will bring attention to the origin of the widespread deposits of oil. Oil is a by-product of the worldwide flood that occurred about 4,400 years ago. The content of this blog may be truth that is a bit tough to take in.

Most scientists agree that hydrocarbons (oil and natural gas) are of organic origin. Most petroleum comes from plants and animals that were buried and fossilized in sedimentary source rocks. Petroleum chemically alters and becomes crude oil and gas.

Genesis 1: 29-30
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food). And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat; and it was so.

**Prior to the worldwide flood, herbs, fruit and other plants were lush and plentiful on earth and was the food source God provided for both mankind and animals.

Genesis 6: 5-7
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man which I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

**God destroyed what He had created with a worldwide flood; plants, people, beasts, creeping things, and fowls with the only exception being Noah and his family and the animals kept safe in the Ark. The period of time Noah and his family were kept in the Ark totaled more than a year. Waters prevailed on the earth 150 days, add to this another 221 days for the waters to recede and find places to collect, sediment to settle and the surface of the earth to dry off.

Genesis 6: 19-22, 24
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail, and the mountains were covered. And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth and every man. All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. . . . . and the waters prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.

Petroleum porphyrins are found in plants and in animal blood
The chemistry of oil provides vital clues to its origin. Petroleum is a complex mixture of organic compounds. One such chemical in crude oils is called porphyrin. Petroleum porphyrins are found in plants and animal blood.

"All the available evidence points to a recent catastrophic origin for the world's vast oil deposits, from plant and other organic debris, consistent with the biblical account of earth history. Vast forests grew on land and water surfaces in the pre-Flood world, and the oceans teemed with diatoms and other tiny photosynthetic organisms. Then during the global flood cataclysm, the forests were uprooted and swept away. Huge masses of plant debris were rapidly buried in what thus became coal beds, and organic matter generally was dispersed throughout the many catastrophically deposited sedimentary rock layers. The coal beds and fossiliferous sediment layers became deeply buried as the Flood progressed. As a result, the temperatures in them increased sufficiently to rapidly generate crude oils and natural gas from the organic matter in them. These subsequently migrated until they were trapped in reservoir rocks and structures, thus accumulating to form today's oil and gas deposits."

A Vivid Reminder
The Gulf Oil Disaster is a vivid, potent, visual reminder of how God saw and sees the "wickedness of man as great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was (is) only evil continually."

Let the oil sludge serve as a powerful visual reminder to us of how God destroyed "man which I have created from the face of the earth," using a worldwide flood.

Let the sludge-covered animals serve as a powerful reminder that animals again and again pay a high price for man's sin. God gave man dominion over all the living creatures He created on earth. Through the worldwide flood God destroyed "both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them."

Let this horrible disaster remind us that when God's wrath comes it comes to destroy what God sees as evil. God's appointed time for the final pouring out of wrath upon a wicked and evil filled world is soon to come. The period of time when God's wrath will be poured out is referred to in the Bible many times as the Great and Terrible Day of The Lord.

Please meditate on 2 Peter 3, following is a portion of this scripture passage:
verse 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished. (speaking of the worldwide flood)
verse 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men..
verse 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
verse 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.

The promise to believers and followers in Jesus Christ:
verse 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Dorothy, what is happening to our environment at the result of man's endless quest for fame, power, and affluence is truly sorrowful.

Isaiah 51:6 "Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment ...

The earth is aging, it's natural resources being used up, and in the beginning, the Lord made man and put him in the garden to dress it and keep it (Gn. 2:15).

The fall of man led to the fall of earth. Some today want to save the earth, save the environment. And those are worthy endeavors, for we were originally made to dress and keep the earth.

The earth and everything in it is wearing out, and the process is definitely being accelerated by humans. We look for a new earth. That is our only hope.
