Written In My Heart: Outreach, The Beginning and The End (16)
In previous writings, I shared how God has drawn my attention to the beginning, His creation of the heavens and the earth and the beginning of human history, the creation of Adam and Eve. Overlapping with this, God has also drawn my attention to the end of human history on this earth. He introduced me to both the beginning and the end in the fall of 2001 and into 2002... I have since focused much of my ministry keeping these revelations in my heart and mind.
In this writing, I want to share what I consider a confirmation of the ministry Jesus has assigned me as I have worked to follow His calling. I will share a dream God gave me just prior to receiving the Baptism with the Holy Spirit with the gift of speaking in tongues. A primary reason people receive the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is to use His Spiritual gifts in ministry work as is explained in 1 Corinthians 12: 1-8.
It was in late February of 2002 when I had this dream (or vision):
I had just started to fall asleep and I was thinking about a child who is standing outside of a building like a store building. The child is quite disturbed and is saying “nobody loves me.” In the dream, I walk over to him and tell him “Jesus loves you.” As I am talking to the boy, people start gathering around us. Finally, I turn toward this crowd of people and tell them to read “1 Corinthians 15:22”.
At about 2 a.m. or so, I had become so curious as to what this Bible verse says, so I turn on the light, open my Bible to this verse and it reads:
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (NIV)
When I read this, I believed God has just confirmed that my assignment concerned both the beginning and the end. Also, I have believed, pretty much from the day I gave my life to Christ, that I was being called to serve people outside of a regular church setting. Outreach.
What I have found so interesting at the present time is
1) My involvement with a ministry in Pakistan, in the building of a church there, the Sunday School program established, ministering to this congregation and other programs now in the making. I shared this in my last writing.
2) We have been informed that a Muslim Center is going to be housed in the building that is directly next to our church and parsonage. Wow. As I explained in my last writing I believed I was to bring the Gospel message to Muslims, this may open a door to do just that through outreach possibilities right in our own backyard.
The dreams and revelations I had in 2001-2003 have now been coming to pass. Realizing this, the idea of my calling including serving the Muslim population in this area hit me when my pastor made the comment that to approach Muslims with a message about Jesus share with them that “Jesus is the second Adam.” We are all dead spiritually because of Adam’s sin. We are all made alive because of and through Jesus Christ.
I am so curious where God is going to take this. It is exciting to know we will have the opportunity to mingle with some of the Muslim population. God will give us the ways to minister to them.
In my next writings, I plan to share the dreams God provided concerning end times.
