a young woman, to an older woman.
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet , chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." ~ Titus 2:3-5

Dear my sisters who have gone before me,

I desperately need you to show me wisdom.I need you to show me what true beauty is, a fierce kind of beauty.I need you to show me that high heels aren't always worth it.I need you to be an example of virtue. And to tell me that life isn't always what it seems; that the past doesn't dictate my future.

I need you to distinguish not just what is right - But also wise. You can't let me compromise.I need you to champion me into my inheritance.I need you to show me courage through all circumstances.I want you to show me how to smile through my eyes.I need you here to tell me that beauty is timeless; that as I increase in age I can increase in beauty.I need you to make me laugh until my stomach hurts; to keep me smiling at the days to come.

I need you to show me how to really eat chocolate.I need you to teach me to listen with my heart.I need you here so you can take my hand and lead me.You have to remind me to not just live, but live deeply in Christ.I need you to dress me with strength and dignity.I need you here with me to walk through each day with confidence and boldness.

I desperately need you to show me the value in purity; never let me live without a relentless pursuit of God.And most of all; the thing I need you to be most, is to live your life with a vigorous purpose - because my life depends on it.

You know the road young women travel. You know that life is not always smooth and understanding. You have seen the difficulties of life. You knows the heartache children can bring; the difficulty of emotions that bring dark days; the feelings of despair; the general ups and downs of life. You usually have experienced death, disease, depression, and unspeakable heartache. We as young women, need Your knowledge and Your wisdom to face the battles that come with life.thankyou

From my heart to yours, with love.

Shanijane, hopefully you have some older believing women who live near you that can offer the encouragement you crave.
As an older woman I feel very blessed when some younger woman seems to be interested in what I have to say.
God bless you on your journey. Trician

Shani... my dear, dear, dear friend...

You come and we will walk the path together, learning from each other, and laughing fit to bust!

I read this just after our conversation and I want to cry.

Knowing you is a greater privilege than you can ever imagine and I look forward to meeting you at Auckland Airport!

Oh shani.. This had been the cry of my heart too..

And GOD answered my prayer by sending older women who had share a great deal in teaching me a lot of things not just through their words by through their actions as well. The blogs of k, beth, kk, silverpen and the others had also been of help to me. :)

I am praying that young ones (that includes the both of us) would seek the counsel of the people who had gone ahead of them in this journey.

There are still a lot of things we need to learn from them.

Well my darling, this blog of yours shows that you are certainly not lacking in wisdom. But then I think I did tell you that the other day, did I not?

We need each other in this walk. The younger woman needs the steadying hand and experience of the older, and the older needs the energy and the pure joy that the younger brings. So we are two sides of the same coin called womanhood.

:( I finally was able to read this. You mentioned it to me briefly yesterday. As a woman who will reach 50 this year and who's only child is moving out-of-state this week and will be married the end of next month, I guess I qualify as an older woman.

You have given me much to think about and it is very sobering. I pray that I can be an example to the beautiful young women, God's :princess::princess::princess: who are coming after me. It is a joy to walk with the young women I've met here at CB. You give me such joy! Far more than you can imagine!

May God bless you and keep you all the days of your life and may you always keep your eyes on Him... and live like the :princess: you are!

Blessings!

Oh Shani! This was so good to read once again! Do you know what a blessing you have been to me over the years. And in less than four months I will get to tell you that in person!
