I was reading a devotional. The only thing I like about it is the title. Perhaps that's why readers say about my blogs. I don't choose the titles, God does. And this one I have only a clue why a title like this one would mean something for someone! I certainly want to know about the Passion in Easter. Or the wise men in Christmans. Or whom? in Thanksgiving, Christ of course, I forgot it's him we should thank...! Solomon said there was season for everything and time for every purpose or purpose for every time or season. Tricky. But let turn to the wisest man alive short of Christ and he did mess up with the lady's idols. Warning. Ecclesiastes 3:1-12, ["...1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. 9What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? 10I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. 11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. 12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life...] My good friend made a good point to what end is all the wrangling amongst ourselves, I mean purpose in this season? Is there a season of cut-throat what have you or me? Have we gain anything? Has anyone given me a dollar for being clever or knowable or just plain intelligent? I should fast for saying this! But in the end it is all profitless. To me it's folly. I want to sleep with peace in my heart! We've been at it for so long and I long for change of season on this thing...! But if we learned anything about our mistakes, was there any purposeful gain in the end? Suppose I defeat all the prophets of Baal and kill them. And then I waste under a broom tree because a such Jezebel woman doesn't agree with killing and I want to die and now!? Now I hope it all ends before the season of Thanksgiving. I want to thank the Lord for the turkey and stuffing and I don't want to go over that someone has something against me while I sit and enjoy that evening of all days!... Yep! I'm ready to deal. Those who think I'm lost! You are right! I am lost without you! So yes we...let pray and put God ahead of the cavalry! I'm for a change of season, are you!?... Blessings. Chow! thbg
Something we forget and always get into trouble for forgetting:
11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
We forget it is in His time..it His perfect plan... no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
The glimpses we get cause us to be upset with one another.. we just have to wait... ... ..for God to reveal Himself and His work to us... only as much as He wants .. for He is divine and we mere mortals..we cant absorb even what He reveals.. how to know the full story?
Gee! Thanks 'ptl2008' for your kind admonition to be patient. Please pray for me and us. I think the dice is between truth and freinds and we don't want to loose either one. But in the end truth has to prevail because it delivers. But only we could have it both ways, that would be heaven on earth...Thankx good freind for your reference. May God bless all those in Signapore. Amen...
Dear thbg--I think Solomon was telling us not to take life so seriously, but only to take how we live it seriously. I can do little to change the events in my life, but I can do much to change my attitude toward them. :) YBIChrist--Ron
Thank you Ron for you interesting thought on the subject of times and season. I want to be there when God is in the season to bless us. And this is the day of Salvation! Call on God today!...
