Now this is one of those blogs I promise you will not find anywhere else. The fact of the matter is that the Devil with his authority in the world can begin to plastic wrap my devotion, faith, love and hope. It can happen when we are bogged down with the pace of this life, its cares and troulbles and eschedules which sap the Jesus out of you and choke the word! We turn to the Parable of the Sower, Mattew 13:1-23, ["...7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:...] And what does Jesus say this means, ["...22He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful...] Lusting after this life can do you in and we become unfruitful in the knowledge and the birds, devils have already snatched the word from our hearts, and not to mention that rocky shallow soil, very little time with God everyday. Very little prayer and lots of indulgence. And something worst can happen! We turn to 1Corinthians 15:18-19, ["...18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable...] And we may be dead for all practical reasons if we let life shrink wrap us into into its mold of disinterest in Christ and his word. We should fast immediatedely and seek God to bring us out of the plastic suffocation forming around our life and we begin to be surrounded by devils and plain misfortune in all things. Like Lot's wife we turn back to pick up this life of sin we left behind. Lets turn to Lot's wife in OT, ["...22Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. 23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. 24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. 26But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt...] Do not look back but put you, my eyes steadfast on the Lord Jesus, he will bring you out of the plastic net, ["... 165Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them...] And finally, ["...Psalm 25:15 (Whole Chapter) Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net...] May you have a free evening and morning...Amen! thbg
Now if we have love for Jesus we won't have any problems. But if we are taken by passions and become 'fans' of anything else but Christ, God will not bless that work. And if we are distracted by our own pride and fancy about ourselves we will have problems. If we are distracted by fanciful doctrines which will not enter heaven then we will have problems. We just pray our devotion is whole-heartedly focused on Jesus and his work on the cross...
