Do birds make decisions...?

I watching through the window of my house, looking outside at the dog house. The dog food was there and I watched a wary, cautious raven dip into the food and he or she carried outside on beak, and thought, "Should I eat it and take another dip or escape this dangerous situation? But he ate it and then went on to get some more and then he or she left the dog house, then later flew in for another dip into the kibblets!" We turn Joshua 23:1-15, ["... 1And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age. 2And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age: 3And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you. 4Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward. 5And the LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God hath promised unto you. 6Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left; 7That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them: 8But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day. 9For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day. 10One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you. 11Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God. 12Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you: 13Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you. 14And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof. 15Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you...] This a lengthy passage but this was the last message Joshua gave the people and warned them sternly about not falling away from the commandments of the Lord. The Lord is stern with disobedience and will allow us to learn the message when we act presumtiously and overlook what he tell us not to do. I certainly want to take his admonition and follow his steps! Looking at the birds eat away the dog's food, then awakened from his slumber, offended chased the birds from the bowl of kibblets!... Now if we get distracted we will loose our blessing and will have no commendation from the Lord! Now we are plowing with two plows. One pulls the dirt one way and one the other way! And we need to seive the devil before he does that to us! But we must be sober and take the admonition of the Lord to be sober and not sleep into poverty which can come in an instant if we fall asleep while the birds are feasting on our food! So let us be sober and awake for the coming of the Lord is nigh!... Blessings. Bye! thbg

Thank you 'ptl2008' for you kind contribution to this thought. And curious this thought is not far from the other one of putting our trust on the Lord. If the Lord takes care of the bird who are fickle about storing food or just eating and enjoying the moment...!

Blessings Signapore and world!...

I was reading a book on better blogging skills. And I thought I followed instructions. But this blog didn't seem to bring in the chickens and what ever that means! But Joshua gave last words to those who he led to be faithful and not swerve from the Lord's commandments. Now why is that when someone in the old testament gives an exhortation to obey the commandments of the Lord, we usually don't think that includes those commandments Jesus gave the decipiles and the people of his day or for that matter to us listen to him today, from the old testament!?...

We must get away from this limited Jesus who was born in Bethlehem. Jesus is the Lord and Truth and the Word of God and God himself, old testament and new...the same God...learn this and everything will become clear...!

Blessings. Bye!

As we make vigil for our freind to come around in their thoughts, the danger is there. We remember what Joshua said about mingling with those outside,

["...12Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:...]

As we forebear each other remember that we have an appointment with the truth. And while we forgive what others think or put together in their mind, I always want to go back to worship the Truth because it delivers me. Jesus said that if his words truly abide in our hearts, we are truly his decipiles, and that we would know the truth and that the truth would set us free. And if the Son, the Truth, set us free we shall be free indeed...We should always make the truth our ultimate treasure in Christ...

Blessings. Amen!
