Gather where I have not sown...And collect where I haven't deposited...!

And it's a curious statement that God want to gather where he has not sown, and collect where he has not deposited. Sometime is the far stretches of telling the truth and molding it so it can it be accepted, we have to pray that God helps us say the right things! Even at close to compromising with God's truth we have to stay in the boundry of what is right and truthful. Now why do we pick up this subject? Because of what God tells us. He says in 2Timothy 2:25-26 this: ["...25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will...] It take something to be meek and gentle in dealing witih the truth. I have to remember the predicament of those I want to instruct and how really 'set in their ways' they really are! It truly says that in the peraventure or hope that God will give or grant them repentance to the knowledge of the truth. Now the truth is not something up for grabs at will and even if you can get all 66 books of the bible for dollar at a dollar store. And God shows us his love here in saying that, "...And that they may recover themselves out ot the snare of the devil, who are taken captive to his will or to do his will...". Now the gospel is not simple as black and white to those who are taken captive to do the devil's will. Some go into politics, philosophies, dogmans, rituals, superstitions and some in Mega-Churches don't know the real truth. But it is partly our, my fault, because I don't pray to God to grant them deliverance. Just like the church in Acts were praying for Peters deliverance, there won't be any deliverance of those who err until we learn to pray for others. But then the issue is about us and what is our take with God on this. And the question is whether are we really meek to thing in meekness? Have we take the high horse and rode into the sky? Or do we really understand the situation of those in bondage? Jesus came to set the prisoners free, but God tells that the only key for this kind of lock is the key of meekness. May you be blessed. Amen. thbg

Thanks for the blog. I am trying to understand the connection of the "gather where you have not sown" and praying for people in bondage. In addressing the passage of the Talents, I believe the Master is being sarcastic when he repeats the wicked servant saying, "So you know that I gather where I have not sown and collect where I have not deposited" and then concludes with something like "if you really believed that you would have put the money in the bank where I would have at least drawn interest." I think the point is the Master is exposing this false excuse that the servant did not serve the Master because the Master was harsh. In reality, the servant did not believe the Master would come back and just didn't mess with the money he had been given. Had he really been afraid, he would have at least put the money in the bank and got interest instead of putting it in a hole in the ground!

I agree we need to identify with those in sin and pray for those in need.

Be blessed.

Sometime we cannot make our adversaries agree with us on what we consider important and the only symbol of communication we can exchange are ideas they are so entrenched on. And we have to come into the trench with them and to them. We know it's a trench but to them my view of the trench is a top of a hill. And sometimes we cannot sow the truth, the word of God out of the bread basket...And we have to eat with them what they hold true...

But we are not going to stay there forever. We just want to open a line of communicatioin where we can 'piggy-back' the truth on a boxcar that has their stamp of approval on it. Colvert operation indeed. We have to cloak the truth in a way that they will eat of what I have to say if I dare take a bite of the horrible stuff they believe in. But the purpose is the what keep this clean. We want to save their life!

In Luke 14 God Jesus say implicitly what if an ox or son of us fell into a pit on the Sabbath and would we ignore protocol and rescue what is dear to us? And God says that if we put the bible down for ten minutes and listen to what our subject has to say and stop lecturing him or her for ten minutes and really listen to how he or she is really tangled up in what he or she believes, then luckily by God grace we can convince our freind around, after he or she has learned that you love her or him enough to really take time to listnen...

And certainly Jesus know this, when he says that I was a stranger and you took me in, I was in prison and you visit me, I naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you gave me meat...But we have to do this gently! It take tack, love and real prayer to God, that repentance be granted and help my fellow human around from the trap the devil has set for him or her...

May you be blessed. Amen.

This is not your everyday 'share Jesus'. It is a battle plan to attack with a 'trojan horse' the embankment of the enemy, those fully committed to teaching lies. They have their family involved, their relatives and even their whole life! Turning one of these around is no easy matter! But neither is fishing for shark meat! But how delicious it is! Deep sea fishing is a study inself. Like I've said it is not show them the love of Jesus!

But greater love you can show them to unsnare them from what it's upon them! Sometime it takes two lies and truth to gain a truth, or two half truths and a half lie to gain a half truth. It takes a lot of doing and the return is very delayed like growing pecan trees. It takes a long time to have a good yeild. But I tell you how lucky your are in heaven if you can get into the heart of one of these lost ones...!

But we must make someting clear, what ever is done is done in the context of what its true and holy and pure and the only hope and purpose is to unlatch the poor soul from the ball and chain of the devil. This is not pretention to act falsely or to condone sin. The goal is to rondevous with the truth somewhere along the line. We are not there to join them but to bring them out. But like I've said how lucky in heaven you are if you can bring one them around...

May you be blessed. Amen.

This is not a blog for the standing ovations or the lush pastures, but a camel who has to go without water on long journey on an arid land where its next stop only who knows who or where. But there's a lot of oil in arid lands and in the deep sea. Sometimes the blessings come in unsuspecting places. But we have faith that we will complete the journey and tap on that deep seated oil well...

No there are not appauses here only silence. But we have hope that God will accomplish his purpose and make his catch. I kind of remember when Jesus told Peter to take the boats to deep sea to make a catch. But Peter did so reluctantly that they had fished all night and caught nothing. What they brought back was a great catch that almost sunk the boats with so much! Yes we believe that things will turn around and fill our nets...

This is kind of curious that we made more advances when were begging for God mercy than when we thought we were strong and clever in our own steem. When we thought of the weak were going places but now...I was reading a portion of ' The Tree Muskeeters' and I honestly could not understand a thing with the king. And then I picked up the Novel Jane Aerie or something like that and I couldn't tell north from south...

I hope this blog has not been to you in the same manner?! But is well and said and maybe someday we can pick up on what we are really saying and come to understand. God has a purpose for every season and a season for every purpose. We made it and come to the end of the day! Thank God! So many blessings! I hope you had a swell day as well. If by some reason your day was not as bright, I will pray with you as soon as possible to make hopefully things better!...

What a lesson for us today! We've gone through the arid land to find peace with God. Each day from morning to evening is like crossing a dessert full of snakes and troubles. Sometime we find and Oasis and we can bask on the cool water. So we take a break from all the complicated rhetoric and just lay things simple like we used to...

Pushing and pushing throught this arid land and looking for some prospects. But they will come. I thought about the Parable of the Ten Talents or Minas and I wonder if time of drought are part of the diet of a faithful steward? How we done everthing and said everything correctly? And or we like the one who had one mina or talent and said I was afraid you would be a hard man and hid all you gave me in a hole wrapped in napkin so the dirt would not touch it...!

Sometimes the trial does get severy and there not a soul in sight in this arid land, is any camels come through land? The night has come and now we have the snare of darkness. First the snare of the heat outside and now snare of darkness. And we wonder what God think of us? Are we like them that say, "...We are unworthy servants and done only what was our duty to obey you...!" Is obeying God really enough for God? yes. no. don't know?...

If anything else let us pray that we are fruitfull in the knowledge of God....

We just want to thank God for all his kind and wonderful blessings. He has sustained us and our cause throughout the day. And as we prayed that we perhaps are fruitful in the knowledge of God and we just feel glad that God feels glad with us. We know this because of all his love, care and blessings and not to mention peace which we covet from him so much. Perhap this blog will go like a letter in a bottle and find its rightful destination...

God has a destination for everything and everyone. Some to everlasting glory and blessings and rejoicing, with out merit and others who toil and labor to everlasting grief, darkness, fire and worms. I hope I hope I hope...that everything becomes clear and serene for you as it has for me! I tell this of what is common knowledge to me and not anything so magnificent that I should take a lot of glory for...

But I just pray and hope and like to share all I know with my fellows and hope for their prayers for me and for all of us that we are indeed fruitful in the knowledge of God. May you night be as day and your worst day like a day in heaven...

I think I understand your heart on this matter. We must be cautious, however, that those we strive to reach do not feel like they have been "bait and switched" in our evangelism attempts. I have seen this happen where Christians try to "lure" unbelievers into a setting where they think it is one thing but they discover it is an evangelism gang tackle. I believe it is our own walk, our sincerity, joy and unashamed sharing of the good news of God in Christ that impacts unbelievers most.

Good thoughts. Be blessed.

Thank you 'mathetes' for you kind comment and amen and kudos. This is not a call to use 'dirty tricks' to save people. But in Luke 17: 7-10 it talks about this and wheter we are using all our resources to win one over. Luke 17:7-10 says,

["...7But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

8And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

9Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

10So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do...]

And the question is whether we are just punching in our time and doing what is just our 'duty'. Or wether we question a method if that method doesn't work?...
