How much bounce do we have on our game...?

Hi friends. It's 3:36 PM on my town basking in the afternoon sun. How was you day? Is it about quitting time for you? The fact of the matter is that diligence is something but sometimes not everything. Sometimes a quiet time with the Lord is order. I became ill today and I decided to think about this matter of the Lord and a quiet time with him. I had havoc trouble today from all directions. It's open season on this Pancho today! But I felt better now. I remember psalm 41 that says such as: ["...1 Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the LORD delivers him; 2the LORD protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies. 3The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health. 4As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you!" 5My enemies say of me in malice, "When will he die, and his name perish?" 6And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words, while his heart gathers iniquity; when he goes out, he tells it abroad. 7All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for me. 8They say, "A deadly thing is poured out on him; he will not rise again from where he lies." 9Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me. 10But you, O LORD, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may repay them! 11By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me. 12But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your presence forever. 13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen...] I like to think that once in a while I like to be those that consider the poor and weak. When I talk to my God, I ask him- Have we touched someone's life today? Have we brought comfort and direction to a straying friend? Psalm 23. And certainly my God, you God, our God has been good to us. But do we have bounce in our game when things don't go our way? When we are not served our brand of tea? Or type of musik? Today I thought it was the end. But somehow the spirit came back. The joy to help came back. And we are back! Take a few moments with God in your busy schedule and just meditate for an instant that it is going to be allright. The deal is going to come through. We will make that budget work. We will get another job. Or that dreadful desease has the Lord agaist it. But sometime the Lord just wants to see if you have bounce in your game! May you be blessed. Amen. thbg

Thank you 'bethy' for you kind comment, amen and kudos. We just want to thank God for all his goodness and pray that everybody's day today is a little better for us and that we may have hope for better things to come yet ahead. May you be blessed. Amen.

ps. Please remember to pray for all me to face trying times. Thanks.

Thanks for this reminder. Often we're so busy with our lives that we forget to spend some time with God. It's a shame that we only realise this when we're down or ill.

Thank you 'anaphora' for your kind comment. You have a name I have never heard before. May you have peace today together with your loved ones. Amen.

Thanks, thbg, for these uplifting words. We all fall into that trap called "life". It just seems to consume us, doesn't it.

I have found such great comfort in setting aside a specific bit of time each day for solitude and communion with our Lord, Emmanuel. I take this time with some discipline, thanking Him for my many blessings, spending time in His Word, asking for His guidance as I enter each day. I ask Him to show me some task each day, and He never fails. It may be a word of kindness to a stranger, a helping hand to one in need. It may be spending even more time in His Word, or a tap on the shoulder telling me that there is something I am considering that I really shouldn't do or say. Since I've been doing this, my life is much more directed and I am so much more at ease (calmed) and purposeful.

Blessings to you, brother,

Thank you 'alive' for your kind comment, amen, kudos and exhortation to take our business to the Lord at some time in the day. We pray that all of us at sometime talk to God each day and frankly tell him our concerns, worries, anxieties and if any else our praises and our thanksgivings. May you be blessed. Amen.
