It's been a while since I skip over to the local community college public library and check out the community computers there! My daughter just got on the plane with the kids! And I don't know what my response to that is!... Since somebody you care for leaves, do you feel relief from the travail of the trouble that accompany them? Or are we really sad to say good-bye!... And what is more important, to be diligent or to be kind? Is love a moral obligation or is it something we freely give?... We got on a free for all in a bible study at Church and I couldn't convince them that God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten Son that whom ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life!... Now we want to feel moraly obligated to do good, and but it will come a time when it will become a chore and not gift of free-will sympathy to help someone!... Now God was never obligated to do anything for anybody and neither Jesus go to the cross grudgingly!... And why should this be of any importance? We need to understand that the fruit of the spirit is gifts and not I.O.U's we have to pay later!... And the panorama is that we want to be regenarate and but we want to force ourselves to do that! And holiness does not come by force or compulsion or to-do list of demands on God and his grace!... And this can be frustrating to some who are in a hurry to be 'holy' with waiting on God! And it is right to thirst for righteousness, but righteousness is another name for giving and not getting! And we sometime make mistake of comparing kindness for diligence!... Blessings. Amen. thbg
Brother Frank, we do not fully understand God and His minds or teachings correctly. That's why we misinterpret His ways and expect things from Him when He never intended, wanted to be like Him but never willing to let go of ourselves, wanted His gifts but never willing to give up our character and embrace His.
The Lord's way is not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts, nor His timeframe our time frame. May we be rested and be still before Him.
