Taking a break from the grind of an illness...

Today I finally began to feel better from a flu-bug that got a hold of me. I turn to my journal and see what's there. Nothing's changed. Why should it I only have the key to it. It's 4:05 PM in my town. Perhaps everyone is getting ready for the weekend this friday. But I turn to 1Samuel 2:18-20, it says, ["...18 Samuel was ministering before the LORD, a boy clothed with a linen ephod. 19And his mother used to make for him a little robe and take it to him each year when she went up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. 20Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, "May the LORD give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the LORD." So then they would return to their home...] It came to pass that Hannah bore three sons and two daughters. The Lord had accepted Samuel as an acceptable gift to him. Hannah thought about her gift and would to him a little robe when she would come to the temple year by year. The Lord teaches us that were our treasure is there our heart shall be. When we give gifts to God do we just give it or do we pray that God will bless you gift and use it to his glory. What about the gift God has given you? Do you pray that you are excersizing in regularly or do you have it covered with a napkin and hid in a hole in the ground? Parable of the Talents. Do you put you lamp on a stand or do you put it under a bushel? Jesus said, " Your are the salt and the light of the world..." Do we keep our testimony hidden? Once we discover our gift, we should adorn it with diligence and prayer. We should earnestly pray that we are not shy with the gifts God has bestowed on us by his grace. We should sharpen the axe of our understanding always and take heed to do those thing you have knack for doing well. And just like Hannah was blessed you too will be blessed by doing Gods' will and produce the fruit in your life he expects to find. The Lord healed Hannahs' womb and made it fruitful. You too will be fruitful if you bring your life to God and give to him the gift he has given you. May you be blessed. Amen. thbg
