The bible reveals the beginning of everything and who put everything in motion. Going to Genesis 1: We walk with the Lord through 3 days of creation. Just what he did in the first 3 days of wonder, it says: [1In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. 6And God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." 7And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. 8And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day. 9And God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so. 10God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11And God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth." And it was so. 12The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.] Just take a whif of the wonder of God for a second and experience glory and rest for just a moment. Yes our God is an awesome God but where we turn next, there are some who may never heard of this event if they have heard it read on the sabbath for eons of years. We turn to Jer. 32:17-27, it says, 17'Ah, Lord GOD! It is(A) you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by(B) your outstretched arm!(C) Nothing is too hard for you. 18(D) You show steadfast love to thousands,(E) but you repay the guilt of fathers(F) to their children after them, O great and(G) mighty God, whose name is the LORD of hosts, 19(H) great in counsel and(I) mighty in deed,(J) whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of man,(K) rewarding each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds. 20You have shown(L) signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and to this day in Israel and among all mankind,(M) and have made a name for yourself, as at this day. 21(N) You brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and(O) outstretched arm, and with great terror. 22And you gave them this land,(P) which you swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. 23And they entered and took possession of it.(Q) But they did not obey your voice or walk in your law. They did nothing of all you commanded them to do. Therefore you have made all this disaster come upon them. 24Behold,(R) the siege mounds have come up to the city to take it, and(S) because of sword and famine and pestilence(T) the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What you spoke has come to pass, and behold, you see it. 25Yet you, O Lord GOD, have said to me,(U) "Buy the field for money(V) and get witnesses"-though(W) the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans.'" 26The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: 27"Behold, I am the LORD,(X) the God of all flesh.(Y) Is anything too hard for me? These people who were supposed to be called by God's name had forgotten who brought to be the ground they step under! Jeremiah entreat the Lord for a re-seminar of how things came to be and by whom it came to be! And the Lord tells us 3 things: 1) Behold, I AM the Lord, 2) The God of all flesh, 3) Is anything too hard for me? This is the abc and 123 of the gospel. A child can understand this much. But do we really know and believe these three things by heart? So that is our message for today. Genesis 1 and Jeremiah 32. May you have a good day. Amen. thbg
Do you know thbg that that verse from jeremiah is a chorus. We sing that in sunday school. Just thought you might like that piece of trivia.
