Dear Freind: Let's turn to Numbers 14:1-6, ["... 1And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? 4And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. 5Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. 6And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:..."] There was a time when the Israelites had enought of the God business and wanted to turn back!!! And knowingly we should not go foward and put our own lives and well being in detriment to what we want to accomplish!!! God says that we should not count on God to take care of us when we knowingly put our lives at risk and expect his angels to take care of us and lift out of our troubles!!! But we must say that mercy is not something some body earns but something so right to give even when some else deserves to bathed in gasoline and burned it hell by the way they act!!! But we must understand that those who err in thier ways are really victim of their circumstances, environment, up-bringing, or a devil that just does not let have any peace day or night!!! And that is why we should be more understanding to be patient and pray for God's love to flow from us to them and make room for them for one more hour, why God, has a time to change of mind and grant them mercy!!! The wages of err is eternal damnation and sometime we just can help people, but we should always pray that we can!!! And like the children of Israel did not want to go and take possesion of something good, we too we forget how good mercy is even for us to give, because we too make mistakes, big ones!!! Ephesians 4:32 Dear freind, we should always pray for other, even the worst one, because at one time we too, were the worst of subjects without God!!! I hope this helps!!! May you be blessed. I enjoyed your blog, thbg, because I am in an intensive Bible study on the book of Numbers (and must get back to study after this break). Like you, I've wondered how many times Moses must have wished he had never gone over to look at that burning bush! But since he was so obviously God's choice for this event (proven by the anointing that accomplished the needed task, over and over again), I suspect he would have met the Lord somewhere else equally surprising. Blessings on you and your ministry. PossumPrayerWarrior
Thank you 'possum' for kindly blessing our blog. And we just pray we can continue. And our founder facing this same question over the fate of this site???!!! And perhaps Moses when cornered and squeezed between the mountains, Pharoes approaching army and no place to go into the Red Sea??? And I wonder if we know that God can deliver us???
And who know when Paul was in the ship with the prisoners and the storms and the shipmaster that he did not listen to Paul warning not to face the open sea like he did??? When is the time to be prudent and forebear and when can we trust and attack and take the fort ahead of us??? And we ask ourselves, have we escouted the enemy and spied the land ahead and asked question about the fact about the problem and bring in the necessary machinery to take a bunker???!!!
But the answer is not to be dismayed and want to turn back and then be like Lot's wife who looked back at what she left behind and wanted to go back!!! We should always pray for God to shed us his wisdom, grace and favor!!!
May you be blessed. Amen.
