While we run the race, we should always be alert...!

We sometimes get weary and falter and sometimes we fall asleep or wander away. In Mark 13:32-37 it says, ["...32"But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 Therefore stay awake-for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning- 36lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake...] This is a most stern, wise and pertinent warning. There are so many distractions in this life that lead us astray. Plus the worries, cares and concerns hit us from another direction. In the parable of the sower it says, Matthew 13:22 (Whole Chapter) ["...As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but [ Matthew 6:25 ] the cares of [2 Tim 4:10 ] the world and [1 Tim 6:9, 10, 17; Matthew 19:23; Mark 10:23; Acts 5:1-11; Heb 3:13] the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful...] And it involves where our focus is in this life or on the next. In Col. 3:1-17 it says, ["...1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him...] These passages put in focus where our heart should be at. If it is not. Get back on the main road that leads to life. Pray that God grants us repentance and deliver us from the hyponotic Devil who is so clever and wily and can fool anyone. May you have a pleasant day. Amen. thbg
