Finding our Ministry

To find our ministry in Gods army we first must give up any ideas of serving him and fall at his feet in repentance asking for his forgiveness that we ever thought we could be of any use to him. We must do away with any notion that we do great things for him, for such thoughts come from our spirit and are not washed in the blood of the Lamb. For until our thoughts dreams and plans have been broken before Gods rod we will offer up sacrifices no better than Cain's offering.

God has called each one of his believers to be holy, but we would rather do things for God, do great exploits. We would rather serve him by building things for him. But Gods call to me is to be perfect as he is perfect.

Until God has each believer in his grasp as a broken, surrendered person we are of no use to him for the work of his ministry. Until we fall at the feet of Christ convicted that all our works are nothing, crying out for forgiveness for we have trampled on the Son of God, we are nothing but a stiff necked believer who kids themselves that they are doing great things for God and he is blessing their endeavours. But all our works are but straw in Gods sight and our foundations are being built on the sand of deception and self satisfaction.

To write our name in the book of life is given to those who have followed the Lamb where ever he goes and who have not soiled their clothes with their own self-importance.

Jesus says these righteous ones will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. I will never blot out their name from the book of life, but will acknowledge their name before my Fatherand his angels.

There be few that find this pathway with its narrow door and steep narrow track, for the majority of believers would rather cruise the high ways and autobahns of life. Many are called to travel this narrow track but there are few who find the doorway of Gods calling. Until a believer has been through the wine press of Gods training their ministry will be as a false prophet and will not stand the test of time.

To be truly used of God we have to be broken bread and poured out wine for the spiritually hungry world and this does not come without Gods training and discipline into a heart that has been bound to the horns of Gods alter. For it is only on the alter, that Gods wisdom, knowledge and truths will burned into our hearts.

My prayer is that, because the harvest is plentiful, God will raise up his warriors to carry the battle cry of Gods love and mercy into the darkened world, which is falling generation by generation into the fiery pit

After reading your blog, my eyes fell on your blog tag which is "broken for his glory". This is a "phrase" which is absent in so many of our churches today and indeed one that a good many Christians ignore or even reject. We love to talk about blessings but when it comes to brokenness, well... we protest that it can't possibly be God's will and yet as we read God's Word, doesn't the evidence suggest otherwise time and time again?

If we spent our time doing the things that God wants us to do instead of the things we think he should want us to do, life would be very different!

God doesn't need any of us. If He did He wouldn't be God. He will and can honor some to participate in the work He is doing. He created men for work and working in His vineyard is right and good but it is a gift for our benefit not His. We always seem to get this backwards. Excellent blog. Thank you. Phil
