god s response in 2016 to the church under siege

Today there is no doubt that the church in the widest sense of the word has gone astray and that the Body of Christ is under attack from demonic forces that he been let loose to roam the earth and disrupt the world of Gods elect. In doing so the body of believers is not able to partake of all the 'blessings' that God has prepared for his children. It is as the locusts and canker worm have taken away the harvest that was due to those walking up rightly before the Lord of hosts.

I have been acutely aware of this dilemma over the past few weeks that I have been seeking the Lord as to the blog I should write under his direction. As I waited in my spirit he reminded me that for some time he has been nudging me in the direction of the story of Gideon. Hence with some anxious thoughts I turned to the book of Judges and re read the well known story of Gideon.

During this time in the history of God's chosen people (Judges 6 & 7 ) theMidianites, Amalekites and other eastern people had invaded Gods Promised Land. The oppression was so severe that the enemy helped themselves with impunity to the crops and livestock of the Israelites. We read that Gods chosen people hid in the caves for the land was so ravaged by the enemy that I suspect that starvation was a constant threat to the people of the living God.

I sense that we are facing a similar invasion by the enemy into our spiritual land as the enemy is destroying our crops and causing us the hide in fear. But as in the history of the judges God always, in his time, raises up his chosen people men and women of God whom he has called and ordained with his boldness.

We read in Judges Chapter six that God raised up a prophet and a warrior/leader.

Today I believe God is doing the same as he is bringing forth men and women who have the ability to see as Gods sees, for this in essence is the function of a prophet. The Hebrew word for a prophet is 'seer' which simply translates as 'one who sees/has visions'.

I know that there is no way that we can compare these modern day equivalents to an OT prophet but their calling and function are the same. They are sent by God to warn his people of coming judgment with a call to repentance. They like Ezekiel, Jeremiah and others are appointed to watch over Gods chosen. These prophets/visionaries will pass onto the body of Christ the vision and words that God has passed onto them.

My prayer is that we can recognize these called out ones who have an eye to see what God sees and have the courage to pass this message onto the church. Those who have their eyes open and ears attuned to God will recognize these modern day prophets for they will not speak of peace, for they come forth with a sword. Prophets not only foretell Gods word but more importantly they forth tell Gods word.

I encourage us all to find one of these prophetic voices that God has chosen for us. I believe you will find this voice as you create a climate of righteousness over your life. As you engage in thanksgiving, praise and worship coupled with prayer and pressing into the Holy Spirit, God will reveal his prophetic voice to you. I sense that this year is a year of change for many of us; for as in the natural, climate change is sweeping over the world so too will there be a spiritual change, which will come suddenly upon us

Such 'modern day prophets' will speak in the love and power/boldness of God, calling the church to remember the faithfulness of their God. These 'seers' will be like the one called here in Judges ~ 'no-name' visionaries of God, for they are men and women who will not draw attention to themselves but point to the Trinity and the spilled blood on the cross as the means of salvation and deliverance

These prophets of today with their message from God will be accepted by the true disciples for the sheep know the voice of their Master Shepherd. Any rejection and hostility will come from those who are walking in demonic darkness rather than the light for their 'strong man's' beliefs and lifestyle will be challenged.

Alongside of this God is placing his hand upon men and women to stand up as warriors and many are having a visitation as Gideon experienced to lead the fight against the enemy. In all countries and nationalities God is preparing his army as he has heard the prayers of his faithful.

God is saying to these warriors/leaders 'Go in the strength you have;' for the Lord is with you mighty warrior. Even though Gideon reacted with a fear and humility when he was visited by the man/angel of God; he never-the-less obeyed trusting in the arm of the Lord.

God's choice was 'spot on' for one of the first acts Gideon chose to do was to build and altar and present a sacrifice to God. These modern day warriors are men and women after Gideon's heart, for although they are hesitant and fearful to step out their heart is in the right place for they are also people of worship and have a holy fear of God.

Gideon could not be used as a warrior of the Most High until his sacrifice was consumed by the fire of the Lord. It was at this moment that when the fire of the Lord consumed Gideon's sacrifice that the fire of the Lord was kindled in his heart. Without the baptism of fire burning in our hearts we cannot go forth into battle and pull down the alters of the Baals and the Asherah poles.

May we pray to the Lord that he will rise up his prophets and warriors to restore the first fruits, repair the broken walls and so that we may live in his presence; for the lord will restore his fortunes.

Today we need prophetic preachers; not preachers of prophecy merely, but preachers with a gift of prophecy. The word of wisdom is missing. We need the gift of discernment again in our pulpits. It is not ability to predict that we need, but the anointed eye, the power of spiritual penetration and interpretation, the ability to appraise the religious scene as viewed from God's position, and to tell us what is actually going on. This is a very informative blog. The story of Gideon is one of my favorite stories of the bible. Overall there have to be people courageous enough to preach the true word of God. Thank you and God bless.

Wonderful, wonderful blog. Just excellent and in agreement with you in God raising up not only those to speak but all of His flock to listen, heed, and walk in His narrow way. Showing Christ lives and desires to set captives free.

In Him,
