God’s heart goes out to his children who have fallen into the deep shadows of life. In today’s world the enemy has been active amongst Gods children and has sown his evil into the very hearts of those that confess to trust in God. I am aware that today there are many believers who are hurting because of their circumstances.
Many have financial struggles; others have marital strife, while others are wallowing in a state of confusion and despair. They look for light but they cannot see any glimmer for they walk in deep shadows. They long for some light to shine and guide them on their way, but they are like blind men groping their way along a wall fearful that they are lost.
When God called us into his kingdom he did not expect us to walk in the shadows of life for after all he has brought us out of darkness into his glorious light. In his generosity he gave us the seal of his Holy Spirit to guide us and to keep us walking in the light. The scriptures tell us that in your light we see light . This is the way we as Christians are called to walk – victorious above the wind and waves of despair. When Jesus walked on the water to the disciples in the boat he was showing us that we to can walk on water above the storms of life
Peter climbed out of the boat and began to walk towards his Master, but when he began to doubt Gods ability to keep him safe he began to sink. Doubt said Jesus was the cause of your sinking.
Today doubt in Gods word has dropped us into the deep shadows of life. Gods heart is being rendered in two has he looks down and sees so many of his children covered in the shadows of despair, anxiety, shame, guilt, depression, sadness etc. This is not the life God longs for his children. The Psalmist describes Gods way as coming into his courts with praise and singing; but the enemy has sown doubt in so many believers’ minds that there is no singing, only sadness.
So many believers need the crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. It is time that we shook off the shadows that the enemy has covered so many disciples with and reclaim the blessings of the Lord. It is time that we stopped growling like bears and moaning mournfully like doves.
Like Peter we need to admit that we cannot live among the wind and waves of doubt and we need to cry out, “ Lord save me.” For God will make a highway of holiness above the waves for the righteous to walk on.
And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it. Is 35
