There is a verse in 1 Corinthians that caught my attention as the Holy Spirit quickened my spirit. I was reading through the epistle penned by Paul, most likely on his second missionary journey as he sojourned in Ephesus around the early AD 50’s. In his farewell greetings he wrote these brief words – ‘a great door for effective work has opened before me, and there are many who oppose me.’ N.I.V.
I believe that these comments by Paul are relevant today more than ever. This prophetic word from the Holy Spirit is about to spring forth into fruition. Much has been spoken, travail over, wept and prayed for the great revival that will transform society in a reformational transformation, that will surpass the Luther reformation 500 years ago. I hear the Lord say that we are standing on the beginning of such an out poring of God’ grace.
There are those who will claim that the great out pouring od Gods spirit has already touched certain areas of the nations as several churches are alive with Gods glory. For this I give praise and glory to our father for his graciousness and mercy. But I hear the Lord say in my spirit that this is an appetiser before the main course.
I have a feeling in my spirit that the great longed for and promised reformation will catch many by surprise for it will not happen as we expect it to. Has not God used the foolish things of this world to confound the wise in the past? I see this as Gods preferred methodology. Does he not speak to us from Isaiah saying that behold there are new things that will spring forth?
I read a prophecy the other day declaring that the Maoris will be the beginning of the revival here in New Zealand. The indigenous population here in New Zealand are often despised marginalised and trodden on. Could this be spoken of concerning other nations?
Yes, there is a great door about to open for the spread of the gospel. Hence there is still the cry of ‘Watch and Wait.’ There is still the call to ‘Watch Wait and Pray’ for the harvest is soon to be ready. May we be following in the footsteps of the 5 wise virgins.
But as the opportunity to witness Gods power to being devastation to the darkness there will be a corresponding and opposite reaction. There will be a mighty catamorphic ‘push back.’ Believers who have nailed the colour of Jesus blood upon themselves will be the targeted of such intensity, that many of the saints will fall by the way side. Such will be the intense pressure from demonic forces. As the scriptures say we should not be surprised by this.
Never-the-less I see a great falling away from the faith of those who are luke-warm for this will be a season of inner conflict in the valley of decision. Today; whom will you serve will be the question. Such will be the pressure that many will cry out for the rocks to fall on them to hide them from the face of Him who sits on the throne.
This should not be a time of despair, but of rejoicing for God’s chosen ones; for to those who stand form and are victorious they will receive life as their victors crown for the second death will pass over them. Their witness will like a city set on a hill whose light will be a guide to the nations.
Therefor be on your guard; stand firm in the faith, be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. Verses 13-14. N.I.V.
