Stop & Consider your Destiny

Out of left field the Holy Spirit said to that he was sending me the Angel of Destiny.  This took me my surprise, but at the same time I was thrilled that the Lord should chose to speak to me a sinner, the least of all peoples.  Immediately I began to praise and thank the Lord for his graciousness that he was caring for me.  As I pressed into this prophetic word the Holy spirit began to reveal to me his heart.

I first searched for the word Destiny in the scriptures and my shelf dictionary.  In the scripture translations the NET has the most usage, but I found a verse from Lamentations 1:9 in the NKJV that seemed to sum up the word that the Holy Spirit was impressing on my mind.

Her uncleanness is in her skirts; She did not consider her destiny; Therefore her collapse was awesome;

The prophet is speaking of the coming destruction of Jerusalem.

The New Penguin English Dictionary – published 2000 defines the word in this manner – ‘the power or agency held to determine the course of events.’

The Hebrew word can be translated as ‘future days.’  I clearly heard the Holy Spirit press upon my mind that we need to realign our spirits with Gods destiny for us.  At this point I asked the Lord what is our destiny.  I though of a college professor who stressed that we were created to worship God, quoting one of the early church Fathers.  But I heard the Holy Spirit say our destiny is to be with Christ.  Jesus called us to follow him.  We have been redeemed to walk hand in hand with Christ so that where Christ is, so should we.

Once we get our head around this spiritual truth, our walk in Christ becomes one of purpose, strength, and firmness.  We are told that Christ dwells at the right hand of the Father.  This is therefore is our dwelling place.  Ephesians 2:6

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

By faith we reckon ourselves dead to sin and raised to newness of life, seated in the heavenlies.  This faith position places us above all principalities and powers , ensuring us that we have victory over our flesh and the demonic forces that seek to strip us of our heavenly garments.  No longer can we be over-whelmed by the forces of darkness.

We are to consider that we are to be with Jesus 24/7, not some time in bye an’ bye.  This is our destiny, this is to be our future; that as we live on earth we do not have to long, like the ancients for a city made by God; for we are already living in that longed for city.

This position of faith opens us to delight in the blessings and gifts of the Father, enabling us to persevere and persist with Christ in his sufferings so that we may prosper and be in good health.

Our destiny is to be with Jesus, as Yahweh was with Adam and Enoch and all the prophets before us.  May we run the race set before us looking unto the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the shame of the cross so that he could be with the Father.

Knowing your destiny is your walk of faith.
