The Hebrew NY 5779

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit he has been stirring an interest in me of the Jewish calendar and the prophetic symbolism of the months etc.  Because of this it has come to my attention that a Jewish New Year, called Rosh Hashanah, or ‘head of the year, begins on September 9th.  It is the Jewish year 5779.  I was drawn to the numeral nine which prompted me to commence research further into the meaning of nine or in Hebrew ‘tet.’

Among a number of meanings for ‘tet’ one of the prophetic meanings of 9 is that of first fruits.  As I was meditating on this understanding the word of the Lord began to form in my mind, a word that came to my spirit two days back.  That is, up till now the furnace of affliction, struggles and battles with the demonic forces, that have no logical meaning, that we have been going through are about to culminate in a harvest of righteousness.

This past year has been a year of open doors, opportunities to re calibrate and re adjust our walk and thinking to the will of the Father to bring heaven on earth.  This is about to come together in the coming Jewish year of 5779 which begins in our Gregorian calendar of September 9th.  This coming year will bring forth a harvest that will reflect the opportunities and willingness to willingly open ourselves to humbleness and surrender that we have afforded the Holy Spirit in the year 5778.

Human gestation lasts 9 months, linking the number nine to birth, fruit, and life

There are nine fruits of the spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  Cf Galatians 5:22-23.  This coming year will clearly reveal how well we have been pruned to bear a golden harvest of blessings to others and to the Lord for his handiwork.

There re nine gifts of the spirit - wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation of tongues.  Cf 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.  Have we allowed the Holy Spirit to place us in the Body of Christ, using the gifts given to us in the measure of our faith, to bring all believers to completion in Christ?

There are nine BeatitudesCf Matthew 5:3-11.  How well have  we fronted up to the fires and sacrifice on the alters of repentance to bring us closer to the image of Christ?

The pictographic meaning of nine is deeply interesting =basket, good/evil, snake, surround, knot, twist, spiral, fruitfulness, repentance, judgment.  In other words, within the letter tet is the potential for duality.  [See above picture ]

As I meditated on these prophetic symbols the Holy Spirit impressed into my spirit that the coming season will be an intense upgrading in the understanding of spiritual warfare, where we will uncover the strategies of the snake in the grass.  This dual meaning of nine with its duality of light and darkness will be a balancing call for us to tightrope walk through the year.  This understanding greatly rejoiced my spirit the night before as I lay in bed writhing under a demonic attack.

Therefore, may we face the coming time and season as sons and daughters of Issachar, with enlightened hearts and sober minds as we gaze on the beauty of the Lord.
