The Spirit of Elijah and Elisha

All week long I have being one word for the lips of Father when I enquired of the word to release through this blog.  I kept  hearing the word 'Whirlwind."

As I pressed into this word I heard the Holy Spirit say that many saints in the Body are caught up in winds of adversity.  I also sensed that this word was to be one of encouragement rather than one of condemnation and judgement.  For many in the Church who know their scriptures they would conclude that whirlwinds, particularly in the so called 'minor prophets,' refer to Gods judgement.  But such a harsh word of doom and gloom has no place in the glorious gospel of the new covenant.  This is not to say that judgement does not belong to God and has no place in Gods plan, but rather to hear the prophetic voice for today.

With this thought in my spirit I was led to recall the departure of the Elijah taken up in a whirlwind as recorded in 2 Kings 2.  This is the word that I believe the Lord was saying to me.

This is the word for this time and season.  Many believers that are presently in a whirlwind season are about to be taken up to a higher level of assignment.  This is not to say that they will be departing this earth but that they are coming up higher.  Their whirlwind season of transition is about to end as they are being taken up into a new sphere of calling.  As in Revelation 4:1

As in Elijah's case these transitioning saints will be passing their mantle onto those who have shown perseverance as did Elisha.  The number three here is significant as it usually indicates something of importance or significance in God's plan of salvation by identifying an important event in Salvation History.  We are to stop, take a breath and rightly divide this word.  There is much more here to be revealed for this present time.

I believe we are in a critical time in God's plan of salvation.  We are on the cusp of a season of believers transitioning up higher for the both the spirits of Elijah's and Elisha's.

This time calls for a sober mind and a watchful spirit for our enemy is prowling round like a roaring lion seeking to de-rail each believers transitioning.  But it is also a time of encouragement as in Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.  Isaiah 60

The Lord is preparing his bride for the wedding feast and the great ingathering, therefore we should expect shakings, turmoil and adversity.  See Romans 8:22ff  But as in the 2 Kings 2 narrative God is firmly in control and his word does not deviate nor fall to the ground but continues to deliver.
