Walking in Oneness with God

I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,21that all of them may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. John 21

Before we were born Jesus prayed that we may all be one with the Father, as he is one with His Father, and we know that the Father listens to the prayers of his Son.

But are you grieving the Holy Spirit by hindering the prayer that Jesus is praying right now? Jesus has been born into our hearts as a result of the shed blood on the cross and he is interceding on our behalf before His Father that we may be one.

We saw in my last blog that Enoch walked with God into a 'oneness.' We saw that God engineers our circumstances as he did to Abraham to bring us into a oneness with himself as we grow in faith and trust.

There are two principle reasons why God longs for us to walk as Enoch did. Firstly so that we may be prepared for the marriage of the Lamb; so that at the appointed time we will have the correct wedding garments to wear. Secondly, that we may be of use to God; for we have been saved for one purpose, to be a witness unto his Son, Jesus.

To walk as a one with God takes discipline for we have by a series of moral choices to choose whom we will serve as we face our valleys of decision. Each time we choose faith over sight we grow stronger into the love of God, grounded and deep, rooted into His heart. As God chooses our valleys and Jesus intercedes for us, we are working out our salvation as we surrender our wills to His will as Abraham's walk illustrates.

This Oneness is a growing into holiness so that the glory given to us by Christ's atonement redounds to the honour and glory of the Father along with the angels who continue their rejoicing as we gain the victory over the 'body of sin' that was killing us. In this way we begin to have a clearer understanding of Gods will so that the decisions we make when we come to the cross roads are His decisions in the sense 'I being in the way the Lord leads me.'

We weep when God weeps, we grieve when God grieves, we rejoice when God rejoices, we have compassion when God has compassion, we speak what God speaks to us, we do what we see God doing.

These are the results of walking in a oneness with God.

The gifts of the spirit are more pronounced in our life as we witness unto him who died and rose again. We walk in victory as conquerors over sin that clings so easily to us. His word speaks to us daily with no ambiguity but as living bread, food that we cannot do without as we hunger for more truth and wisdom to be revealed to us, so we can feed others. Satan cannot break us as each time we choose life over death we are planted deeper in the sprinkled blood of the Lamb.

These are the results of walking in a oneness with God.

But we will also share in His sufferings as will fill up what is lacking in Christs sufferings, for we are co-heirs with Christ as we grow into a oneness with him. As Jesus learned obedience so to must we, for the disciple is not greater than his master.

These are the results of walking in a oneness with God.

Jesus is praying that we may become one with the Father. But are we choosing life over death, faith over works/sight, righteousness over self, fruit of the spirit over the flesh?

how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? Heb.2

This is a question we should all be pondering daily.

Blessings!

Great reminder for not only unity through Christ but for us through Him being one with The Father and we called to be one with Him ... to do so and by it bring glory to our Father in heaven.

In Him,
Les

Really superb John.

May the Lord have mercy on all of us, and let us be clean and useful to Him, let us not be stubborn in our old ways but do the right thing instead.
Thank you for this word which is much appreciated. Have been racing around and consequently less than gracious ... and my answer to the question with which you close is one to be ashamed of before God.
"Just a closer walk with Thee..."
Thanks again and God bless,
Sarah

Thank you so much. Many a times we want to see results before we believe, yet faith is not about seeing. Help us Lord
