word curses and my testimony

The Holy Spirit has just finished saying to me, 'Be aware of the word curses that are being spoken over you for these cures will diminish my spirit and in some cases be the beginnings of an occurring illness.'

Under the guidance of the spirit my mind was taken aback to that day when I resigned from the ministry. I can still picture the scene in the lounge of the manse when the secretary and treasurer of the church at that time came and said. 'John we do not believe you are suitable to remain in the position of pastor and we suggest that you resign.'

Immediately these words were spoken I felt a light go out in my spirit as if a switch had been thrown. I thought I do not wish to fight this and said, 'OK I will.'

Today the Lord in his mercy has shown me the spiritual forces at work that day and the ramifications that my response has allowed to happen. I might point out that for nigh on 30 years I have had a veil over my eyes for I have blamed God for the events that evening.

Tonight that veil has been lift and I have seen clearly in the spirit that those words that were spoken that night were a word curse over my life and those of my family from Satan himself. When this revelation came to me tonight I felt so ashamed: ~

Firstly that he lion roared and I was devoured: 1 Peter 5:8

Secondly I did not discern the source of the visit.

Thirdly; I did not discern that these words spoken over me were a spiritual attack.

Lastly I did not stand form in the armour praying always in the spirit. Ephesians 6: 11& 13.

I had to come before the Lord with repentance on my lips for I sensed my unworthiness before him. As I did I recalled a verse that he gave to me a number of years ago when my prostate problem had once again kept rearing its problems despite my claiming the blood from Isaiah 53. My mind was returned to Psalm 32:7

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance

Ever since the Lord spoke these words to me at 2pm in the morning of a camping trip my wife on I were on, I have been puzzled by the phrase 'songs of deliverance.' Tonight I believe that this phrase has been fulfilled.

This revelation has been a reminder that the enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy our supernatural relationship with God our Father causing us to be ineffective in our ministry and witness. As the end times are rolling closer we need to be on our guard for the enemy will come to us as a thief in the night with these word curses and many of us will unwittingly come under the authority of these demonic words.

Through this revelation and discernment the Lord has shown me that a recurrent illness that is stubborn may be the result of some 'witchcraft' spoken against us. I am not staying that all stubborn aliments that do not respond to prayer are the result of word curses, but neither can we dismiss such happenings as fantasy.

The Holy Spirit has taken me by the hand to recall the incident recorded in Matthew 16:21 ff. Jesus has spelled out clearly to his disciples that he must suffer many things from the church leaders and be killed but would rise on the third day. Peter rebukes him! Jesus turns on Peter and rejects this 'word curse with the well known words, 'Get behind me Satan.'

Jesus recognized the lions roar, stood his ground and rejected the words from the enemy. Everything that in my incident recalled above I did not.

As the days draw closer let us be sober, alert and awake to the enemies roar rejecting such word/thought curses.

If you feel like you are at the receiving end of word curses, the best tactic I suggest to do is to employ 'the Luke 6:28: bless those who curse you even if you don't know who they are.'

'Next, bind thought curses and word curses in the name of Jesus with the Matthew 16:19 key. Finally, take authority over every demonic thought that has been formed against your life and gird up the loins of your mind, for that is where the root of the battle really lies.' To gird up the loins of our mind is to be alert and clear headed with our thoughts fixed on Christ authority.

Great advice! Words are "powerful" and as such we must realize that we are up against "forces that are working through people" whose words are inspired from the enemy; words that are treacherous to our spiritual growth and stumbling blocks toward our understanding of who God really is.

Excellent message! Thank you, wmj.

Thanks for sharing what you and I know to be the most sensitive and earth shattering event on earth; being "fired" from the ministry. Great words of advice. Excellent blog brother John.

Thank you for sharing this. This is something that needs to be heard. Words can have power both good and bad. How many of us have had our lives altered based on words uttered by those we know or don't know? The enemy attacks us through the words of other people. We need to be ready.

That old adage that sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never harm me is utter garbage. We need to be aware that words spoken can haunt us for years if we do not take that hurt to Jesus persistently until their power over us is nailed to the cross.

This is a good word about words. Your advice couldn't be better given.

A wise warning!

We have a prayer thing coming up at church and I was thinking Acts 12 for the theme passage, and the different ways we can be 'imprisoned' or made to feel like our 'hands are tied' and we are ineffective to seek, serve and follow Christ. Of course, given the passage, I was also thinking about 'dodgy' leaders making self-seeking choices and, in doing so, doing the devil's work. Plenty of food for thought for me, in what you've shared. Plenty to learn from. Thank you for sharing this revelation and experience.

You know John, after I read the whole blog through a couple of times, I thought about the Joseph sequence in Genesis.

Reading your account leaves me with no doubt that man worked this for evil purposes, and served as a puppet to do the adversary's work for him in the incident you describe. I can't begin to imagine what kind of feeling you have after something like that happens John.

Yet there is also no doubt in my mind that God worked it for good. In the end, you're here, and it's so good for us you're here. God, when he saw you elbowed out by the adversary from one place where you were useful in ministry, brought you to another place where you are really of great value to your family in Christ. And no doubt so many other places you could serve so faithfully along the way.

THANK YOU! :tippinghat:

God bless,

Sarah
