Psalms for afghanastan/ done at last

It has been months since I have made an entry. It was not from neglect, it was just a situation that had to be. I want to renew my acknowledgement to Kiwibird, Ptl2008 and Shanijane, who were always so supportive and faithful in their prayers. I would also like to thank all those who read my blog entries and took a moment to pray. I am pleased to announce a great testimony to God's faithfulness to the prayers of His people. Jeremy is back home in Georgia as of last Saturday. I can now share a little bit more of what his mission was. Jeremy served with a Brigadier General on a NATO command and tacticle team. Because of this, we could never talk about where he was or what he was doing. Thanks be to God that because of all the prayer covering, his entire 35 man unit made it through the......

Hey everbody and hey to you my beloved son Jeremy and all your buddies over there in Afghanastan. I love you and miss you so much. Yesterday I wrote a blog entry that said I would be discontinueing this blog for awhile. But situations change and new things happen. Today I got to talk to Jer right after there was a huge bomb detonated at the NATO headquarters in Kabul. He called to tell me he was safe. As many of you know, I can't disclose much about Jeremy's mission in Afghanastan for security reasons. I can, however tell you that he and his group had just left the NATO headquarters and passed right by the vehicle that exploded. It was loaded with 600lbs of explosives. They were only about 60 meters, or about 20 seconds past the vehicle when it was detonated. Thanks be to God and......

I pray God pours out His most bountiful blessings on you for all you have done to lift me and my son up. This is probably going to be the last entry under this title and catagory for a while. Please don't jump to any conclusions. Jeremy is well and continuing on in his mission in Afghanastan. We hope he is going to get some R&R sometime around the end of the year and possibly make a quick trip back home. Look for blogs from me under......

You may remember seeing the word "izzat" from a previous......
Psalms for afgahnastan/the blessing of a voice

Hey everybody and hey to you my precious son Jeremy, who I know reads these entries when he has a chance. I want to send a special shout of thanks out to all of you who follow this blog and all of you who lift my son and all of our other troops in harms way in prayer. Our men and women are in extremely violent situations and need a constant prayer cover. Well, about the subtitle; Sunday afternoon my cell phone rang as my wife and I were sitting at the table eating lunch. The words I first heard were "Hi dad, it's me Jeremy" How my heart soared. To hear his voice after not hearing it now for so many months about brought me to tears. After the call I became aware of how important it was to hear that voice, the voice of my son, from half way around the world, while he had a few......
Psalms for afgahnastan/ get to know jeremy a little more

Hey everybody and all my love to you Jer. Sorry I haven't had a blog entry for a couple of days. A huge shout of thanks out to those who follow the blog and especially to those who lift my son Jeremy and his fellow troops in prayer. Our men and women in harms way need a constant prayer covering. This war is real and heating up very quickly. As you all know who follow the blog, some of the information I put in it is for Jeremy because he follows it and it is one of the ways I have of communicating with him. Anyway, part of why I have missed the last couple of days entries relates to information from the other day when I mentioned that Norman's mother (Jer, you know him as the peanut man) had a massive stroke. I have been spending time at the hospital ministering to the family. She......

Hey everybody. As usual, I want to start by giving thanks to my Father in Heaven, His Son Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit through whom all of the wonderful people who read and follow this blog and lift my son Jeremy and his brothers and sisters in arms up in their prayers. Please accept my deepest, heartfelt thanks and know that I am praying for all of you also. And to those very special people who send me messages and add comments, I want you to lnow how much it means to me and how it lifts my spirits and strengthens my faith. It was so wonderful to read Jer's comment on my last blog entry, Psalms for Afgahnastan/ the power of prayer covering. I wish if you have not read it or read it before his comment, you would go back and look. I especially want to thank PTL2008 for the......

Today I want to spend time blogging about this amazing community of people that comprise ChristianBlog.com I can't express to you all what it means to me to know that there are so many God loving and caring people who have sent me messages and made blog comments that lift my spirits and confirm and strenghten my faith in the Christian walk and way of life. When I see that we have built up to over 100 reads for every blog entry my heart soars because I know that with each read a prayer is going up for my son Jeremy and all our troops in harms way. I appreciate also that so many of you lift up me and my family along with the other families who have members in harms way. I am humbled by this whole experience. I have gained new friends from all over the world. I am experiencing this time......
Psalms for afgahnastan/izzat

Hey to everybody who reads and follows this blog. Blessings on all of you who hold up my son Jeremy and all our service people who are in harms way. A special shout out to Kiwibird and PTL2008 who continually send me notes and comments that do a great deal to keep my spirits lifted and my faith strong. In fact the subtitle (izzat) comes from an article that PTL2008 sent to me on Afgahn culture. The reason I find it so relevant today is that it has a very strong cultural meaning in eastern culture. It means Honor. Tracking todays news on the war in Afgahnastan we have learned that in the southern province where we have 4000 brave marines fighting and dying it has been discovered that one of the ways that Taliban fighters are using to escape capture is to cover themselves in Burkas, the......
