Thinking about a dear friend

P They finally bloomed! After planting, watering, Miracle Growed, weeding and running off squirrels and deer my sun flowers have finally bloomed! They are 6 or 7 feet tall with very strong stalks. I am very pleased. I have not grown sun flowers in years but this year I wanted to because a good friend of mine loved sun flowers. So in memory of the best ever blogger here at CB, I dedicate my sun flowers to Kirk. I hope as he looks down on them he remembers me and how much I loved to read his blogs. How much he inspired me to grow as a Christian. How much he taught me to love Jesus and one another. I remember being upset from time to time and Kirk, in his special way would calm me down. He was one special guy! Miss you, alight...
Going back to ecuador

On June 6, 2017 I am going back to Ecuador on another mission trip. This will be my third time to go there. Last year I was able to start a new church in a village that did not have one. I left money to buy bibles and study materials. I can't remember now how many people I prayed with to receive Christ but I'm sure it was 20 or so. I am excited to go back and see how they are doing. It was a very small village but the people that worked with the youth said they had at least 100. I normally prepare more for such a trip but this year has been so busy. I can't take a lot of bibles but I did come up with 150 books of John in Spanish. I also have been given money to use for what ever needs I see. Please pray for me and the team. June 6 - 13. alight...

On July 25, 2016 our mission team left Nashville International Airport for Quito Ecuador. There was 8 of us who would meet up with 4 more and some translators and go by bus to Sigchos the next day. After arriving in Sigchos a small town but many people (20,000) we got settled into our hostels and then began working with children and witnessing to people door to door and up and down streets. I say up and down but it seemed everywhere I went was up hill. The town was on top of a mountain that I think was about 9,000 feet elevation. Some of the people we had witnessed to in previous years so we visited with them to see how they were doing. Mostly though we talked with new people. Sometimes people in the church we were working through would go with us and lead us to people they wanted us to......
What a wonderful night here at cb

Years ago a bunch of us had Communion in the chat room. People from around the world was involved in it. Some got up in the middle of the night and it was already tomorrow for others. It was great. I got to read all the communion service transcripts last night. What a special night we had together. I can still remember how I was just praising the Lord during the whole thing and for a long time afterwards. I think it was Poo who said something about singing and dancing. Well, she wasn't the only one. K's opening prayer... with every word I was saying amen as well as I'm sure many others were. What a great job she did to bring us into the presence of All Mighty God. I was ready to be raptured right then and there I promise you... . and then Bethy began to sing. I don't think......
I lost a friend today

Several years ago B2Y or Kirk came driving up to my home in Tennessee and stayed with my wife and I for a couple days. I'd known him from being on CB for a few years but really got to know him personally those 2 days. He was a GREAT man of God. We both enjoyed his visit so much. He never ceased to amaze me how his blogs were always excellent. Never read a one that did not move me. He was so smart and I thought had the right answer to every question that came up. I called him my Pastor here at CB. In fact when I came up with the idea of having the Lords Supper here, he was The Man to call on to lead it. It took several tries to talk him into it because of his humbleness. And all that was here back then knows he nailed it. I will miss my dear friend. He's in a better place now. No......

For a few years I was a regular here at CB and tragedy hit my home/my life... . my wife died of cancer. I loved her so much. I got angryat God for taking her away from me. OK, I admit it... . I was so upset with God that I turned away from Him. Not completely of course... . I'm stupid not crazy! Tonight I wrote my son-in-law because my only daughter will not speak to me. I remarried! My wife now is my best friend. She makes me happy again. I write this blog with one of her three cats laying on my arm... . purring. I wasn't a cat person but now I'm snuggled up to a cat! Tomorrow I will go put new flowers on my wife's grave. I've been putting pinkones (Brest cancer) but now I want to put flowers according to the seasons. I found some beautiful fall flowers and am excited......
The three types of people

I was watching a movie tonight that reminded me of something. It was a very good movie as far as entertainment goes but it had too much cussing in it for me to recommend it. Funny how you can get incite from strange places. It was kind of a Western set back in the frontier days. As I understand it Christianity was a little different in those days. I'm not saying that God has changed, only man and his ways. The movie had (at that time) good Christian people, both men and women. It also had men and women who were sinful to say the least. Some of the people acted awful in one scene and kind in another. Some were Christian and kind and acted awful. Maybe things have not changed much over the years. There are three kinds of people in this world. First there is the fool who says in his......
What on earth happened?

It will soon be 40 years ago that I asked Jesus to come into my life and forgive my many sins and save my sorry soul. For many years now I have loved the Lord Jesus and served Him to my very best. Then tragedy hit. Cancer took my wife of 37 years and I was devastated. I was a Christian long enough that if it happened to you I would have had all the answers to what you needed and how you could overcome such sadness and troubles. I would quote you all the verses that should have comforted yoursoul and dried up the tears you would have cried night after night. Yet here I am over 2 years later still in much sorrow but just not over my wife but the distance I am from God. I still have the knowledge, I still have the Spirit, I still have the want to, to be close to God again. But He seems to be......
How time flies

How time flies by these days. I believe the older we get the shorter the days. I work in a control room all the time now clicking on a mouse or writing down numbers. I work 12 hour shifts and must admit I do have time to pull out the iPad and share with you what God isdoing in my life and all the things He is still teaching me. Sorry for being away so long. I do check in from time to time and see what my friends are up to. I got myself hitched again to a wonderful woman. You'll have to meet her one day. We have so much in common. We run, bike, hike, kayak, sing, pray, go to church together and she's a good cook. She is really easy to look at too. I feel blessed to have loved and been loved by 2 incredible beautiful women in my life. For those who did not know I was married to my......
As life changes

Looking up on the hill behind my house today I noticed that the colors of the trees had peaked. Most years the trees change very gradually over a period of a couple of weeks but this year it was almost over night. I sat and thought about how fast my life had changed also. After my wife of 37 years died of cancer my life was turned upside down. All, I mean all the things that interest me no longer interested me any more. I was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and runner. I still make myself run to stay in shape but the other things I hardly ever do any more. I use to love going to church and sing and be with other Christians but now I have to make myself go. Before I could pray for an hour, today I justdon't seem to have much to say. I went ahead and went to Africa on a 2 week mission......
