Written In My Heart: Lay Up For Yourselves Treasures In Heaven (#5) Moving on in chronological order, I am going to share an event that happened within a month of God calling out my name the first time in March of 2001. It was in early April, I decided to check out the back yard of the historic W. W, Mayo House to begin organizing for the opening day of the tourism season. As I walked across the lawn, something caught my eye. I saw what looked like the telephone wires going into the home had been cut. I went over to the corner of the house and sure enough the lines were cut. I then went to the back door and it was not locked. As, I opened the door, I was totally shocked. The little historic home had been broken into and almost all of the smaller artifacts were gone. The burglars had......

Written In My Heart: “He Who Has Ears To Hear” (#4) In the writing last week, I shared how God called out my name the first time in March of 2001. This week I will share how He spoke my name a second and third time. Check out the Series Titled Written In My Heart for previous writings. It was the first Sunday after I gave and committed my life to Jesus Christ and became born again that God audibly spoke my name a second time. It was Sunday morning, October 7, 2001. The evening before I had told myself I needed to be sure to wake up by 8:30 a.m. in order to get ready and be on time for church. At exactly 8:30 a.m., an audible male voice woke me by speaking my name, Dorothy, into my right ear. I now rarely miss attending church. I love to go to church to worship and hear truth......

Written In My Heart: God Called Out My Name (#3) “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.” Isaiah 43:1 Jesus paid the price I could never pay for my sin, for my rebellion toward God. He redeemed me with His own pure blood. He called me by my name. He tells me I belong to Him. This is not only true for me. It is true for all who have been born again in Jesus Christ. This verse quickly became one of my most favorite verses in God’s Word. I love to reflect upon this experience. After leaving the church I had been a member of for some 26 years, I spent about 7 years not attending church. I will never ever forget the awesome thing God did. He reached down to me and audibly called out my name. It was in mid-March of 2001 at about 2 a.m.......

Written In My Heart: Playing Church (#2) At the time I married, I informed my husband-to-be, who had been attending church with me often, I believed in Jesus and wanted to be active in church after we married. He agreed this would be okay. After our wedding, we made our home in the small town where Bill worked for the Green Giant Co. He grew up on a farm near Le Sueur, Minnesota. I grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. I made a promise, to God or at least in my mind, to go to church and raise our children as church goers. I made sure to join a church of the same Synod. We have three children. They were raised going to Sunday School and each of them was confirmed. In this church, I attended regularly and served as a Sunday School teacher, as Sunday School superintendent and even for a period of......
Fell and hurt my back

I have not yet written the weekly ”Written In My Heart” testimony that was promised. On Monday, March 20, 2017, the first day of Spring, I fell and injured my back. After my usual Monday morning session of water-walking at our local community center, as I was walking into the locker room, I apparently stepped into a patch of water. Within a second, I was flat on my back on the floor. It was pretty awful. But, I did not hit my head, nor break any bones. I called for my husband to come and I agreed to have an ambulance take me to emergency at our local hospital. I was released after several hours. I praised and thanked God for His protection as the accident results could have been so much worse. This week has been pretty tough though. I am experiencing much pain and discomfort.......

I am coming back to Christianblog to write and share personal testimony of the experiences I have had with Jesus Christ. We are all called to be witnesses for Jesus. This will be a lengthy series of writings that I am sharing with as many people as possible. I have believed from the time I was born again in Jesus Christ, that I was to write and share this testimony. The time has come to do so. The Holy Spirit even gave me the name for these writings:.Written In My Heart. I will be posting a writing once a week. During my childhood and youth, I was raised attending Sunday School and Church as a Lutheran. I do not know of a time in my life when I did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. That He died in my place for my sins. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all of mankind. I......

GOD IS SO GOOD! Today is my rebirthday. 15 years ago on this date, I became right with God. I was born again in Jesus Christ. There are no words to express how thankful and grateful I am to Jesus for reaching down and pulling me out of this world filled with sin and into a saving relationship with Him. He is my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer. He is my Righteousness. He died for me so that I can have life through Him. And, I can live eternally in God's presence. On this date, God gave me His Holy Spirit to live within. From 1 Corinthians 6: 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.......
Billy graham and my testimony

Today is Reverend Billy Graham's 97th Birthday. He, most assuredly, is recognized as the greatest evangelist of the 20th century. Last evening, I watched the program on Christian TV honoring Billy Graham's life and his service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They showed short clips of a good number of his crusades around the world and of his declaring and sharing a simple message of salvation through Jesus. Millions of souls have been saved through his crusades. Many last evening, along with wishing Reverend Billy Graham a Happy Birthday, gave their own testimony of how they came to Jesus Christ through one of his crusades. Praise the Lord! Thank you God for choosing and using this wonderful, loyal, dedicated man of God in your service. This brought back memories of Billy......
Today is my re-birthday

Today, I celebrate my 14th Re-birthday. At about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2001, I repented of my sin, surrendered my life to God and made the commitment to serve Jesus for the rest of my life. I was born-again that morning. I wept for about 2 1/2 hours, which was a miracle in and of itself, as I had lost my ability to cry many years before. I literally felt the Holy Spirit come down upon me and enter my body. When I awakened in the morning, I felt a great, wonderful peace. The "peace that passeth all understanding" quoting God's Word. Within a week I experienced a "life-saving" miracle healing. I had believed I was dying. I had said within myself that if I was not taking a blood thinner, I would have died by now of a heart attack. Jesus restored my......
Thank you jesus for your intervention

I did not totally understand how dangerous the situation was when I experienced a Hypoglycemic Episode in church two weeks ago. It started as a glorious morning arriving at church a few minutes early and witnessing to a dear friend, who is 70 % blind and has severe problems with his immune system. He is so ready to receive a miracle healing. We were both uplifted through our conversation. The praise and worship portion of the service was awesome and the sermon our interim pastor delivered was so good and I was taking it in. He was talking about Genesis chapter 3, and, if you know me at all, you know that I teach on the literal account of God's Creation and focus on chapters 1-11 of Genesis. So I was really hearing and enjoying his message. Then, it started, I felt hot and clammy in an......
