Sometimes i know too much

While reading a really great blog about Biblical knowledge and how we use it, I had to confess I'm loaded with knowledge. Even my own pastor has told me I'm very intelligent and am like a terrier when it comes to finding and researching the facts. But, he didn't say I had wisdom! Now, I do have wisdom, but not in equal amount of my knowledge. I am getting there, though! While reading all the comments, which were by some strong folks and were very good, I had a picture flash through my mind. There she was. They had grabbed her and a man out of a very compromising situation and totally ignoring the man, dragged her down the street in front of the busy marketplace and threw her to the ground. Can you see it? It's a crowded, noisy, smelly, hot, dusty day. The woman is a......
If you say psychology one more time ..!

I keep hearing Christians talk about the "psychology" of people like they mean something.Usually it's someone who has an awful lot to say and most of it pertains to their own ideas instead of the complete Word of God. They use fancy little twists and turns of the language. They answer questions with questions which is avoiding the subject. Usually, because they can't answer it anyway. Over several years, I have dealt with more than my share of long-winded, demanding, dis-compassionate very important "Christian" teachers-preacher-prophet-priests that are just chock full of religion. Oh, they talk a good talk! And they use every scripture and buzz-word they know! They will take a group of scriptures and pound them into every conversation they can to prove their......
Do i really need to know my enemy?

"I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!" Galatians 1:6-9 You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does......
I am favored!

All of our lives we have had favorite things; Ice cream flavors, blankies, places on the couch, places for vacation, books all kinds of things. And we've always had favorite people; grandparents, friends; you get the idea. It is said God has no favorites, that He is "no respecter of men.." even though Jesus had a disciple that even the others called "the disciple He loved". One word that is synonymous with favorite is 'beloved'. Over the years I have made very few really close friends, but those I have are the ones I tell nigh on to everything. I have been blessed to have a handful of sisters that truly are transparent with each other. We were the ones sitting in a car after everyone else had left the church, and talked for hours! We talked about kids,......
Daily bible verse: matthew 6:34

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. NASB We are anxious creatures. We have a great deal to worry about. Ten years ago, you were careful to stay in your price range and bought a house. Now, you're six months behind on payments. You're wondering about your children and the company they keep. The office you work in is talking 'down-sizing". The school is in a legal battle with the ACLU. Your Dad is sick. He and Mom live on their Social Security and he's going to need long-term care. There is a lot to be worried about. But, the Bible says not to worry! Each day is already filled with trouble, for sure! What does God want from me?! Am I supposed to just chuck it all and not take care of these problems?......
Out of context? so what?

Oh, what a tangled web we weave When out of context we believe! I'm sure we've all heard it and pretty sure, even unknowingly, done it. We've taken a verse or two of scripture and used it to prove our point, our belief, our creed. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Jesus used the Scriptures to defeat Satan's temptations. He used it in His teachings, in His daily life. He lived by the Word of God. When He spoke the words of the Law or the Prophets they were always the proper words for the occasion. Not all those who have taken scripture out of context and used improperly have done so knowingly. Some have or are doing it because they are still very young in the Word. Others are old in the Word, but yet still drinking milk. These children of the Kingdom need to be shown......
We survived the prayer of jabez part ii

There is so much to this story I am not putting in because there's just too much. We are a family of 6 with 'extra'. Our home was the "safe house" for several boys over the years so my kids have a lot of extra brothers. Our acting family was invaluable to us at this time. Their stories are not here, but are as valuable as Jaxon's On the 4 hour drive to Santa Fe, I slept. That was God because I have never slept in crisis! Later Scott told me he had a vision while he was driving. It's his and his to share, but during that time the Lord told him that He was going to heal Jaxon completely. On those few words, we have made our stand for the past 11 years. Onward. Jaxon was in a great deal of pain and was being treated with morphine. It was barely touching the......
We survived the prayer of jabez...part i

To understand how immense this whole thing was/is, you would really need to know Jaxon. But that is impossible in this medium, so I'll have to try to show you what I can. Jaxon was given the name Jackson Bartolomew _; Jackson, meaning Son of John (gift of God); Bartolomew, Son of the plowman. He is the gift of God and owns a lot of fertile soil! From the day we brought him home, we knew it was going to be different. In utero, he was in almost constant activity. As an infant, he hardly ever slept. By the time he was 6 months old, the pediatrician had a talk with us about him. He had a 'difference'; and accelerated adrenalin flow. The "fight or flight" thing? On! So we had to learn to teach him to gain control of what could have been out of control behavior. He taught......
It's not skype.

On this Resurrection morning, or Easter Sunday, I was talking to my sweet husband thousands of mile away, by way of Skype. I like Skype! It helps us to keep connected when I'm on the road. It is strange, because I called to wish him a happy birthday (April 6) while he is wishing me a happy Easter. For once the connection was clear with good audio. We had a good chat and 'hung up'; waiting for the right time to talk to each other again. We have a day/night situation so have to work out the call times. Some days because of our schedules we don't get to talk; and I am sad! But when we do, it makes the distance go away. Aren't you glad we don't have to Skype God? There isn't any schedule. He's always on-line and the connection is always clear on His end.......
