Knowing and dealing with our adversary the devil

Knowing who the adversary is and learning how he works is vital for us to resist him and not be pressured or drawn into sin by him

The most important key to spiritual victory is...

The Greek word “nike” means victory, but this word is not used in the Bible. From “nike” comes the word “nikao” , which is used a number of times in the New Testament. The word “nikeo” means to be victorious, to prevail, overcome, conquer or subdue. Outside of the Apostle John's writings, this word is only used four times. John used this word 20 times (14 of which are in Revelation). John uses “nikeo” five times in 1 John. If we look at these five usages, I believe we gain a huge understanding and appreciation for this beautiful Greek word. Before we see the places in 1 John where this word is used, we should look at the one place John uses it in his Gospel, which is John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might......
Understanding the enemy and how he works

I am going to attempt writing the most difficult and complex, yet vitally important blogs I have ever tried to write. Please bear with me and at least try to keep up as we look into the very heart of the adversary. Obviously the devil does not want people to know this stuff so he will fight me tooth and nail trying to keep me from presenting it and doing it in such a way that can be understood. I have no idea how many blogs that it will take to present this material, but I am determined to do the best I can to make known “the mystery of satan's will” and exposing him for who he is - the deceiver of God's people. Let us begin our journey by looking again at 2 Corinthians 2:11 (All scripture references will be from the King James Version (KJV) unless otherwise noted): Lest......
Know your weaknesses--the enemy does

The adversary attacks us where he thinks he has the greatest possible chance of success. He is no fool and rarely challenges us at those places we are strongest. He patiently waits as his demons become familiar with us. These “familiar spirits” study us on a daily basis. They know how we do things, how we think, the areas where we habitually let down our guard, the parts of our lives in which we are sloppy or pay little heed to and most of all; the things that get us mad, make us sad, distract us, scramble our thinking, fill us with pride etc. In other words, these spirits become intimately familiar with us so as provide to the enemy the blueprint for where we are most vulnerable to attack. I do not write these things to arouse fear or apprehension but rather to alert us as to......
Closet christian or bold and faithful believer?

When a believer takes a stand for God in their personal life, is devoted to teaching and ministering to God's people and passionately reaches out with the love of God; they become a threat to the adversary and make it on his “hit list” . The idea of being a “marked” believer scares most Christians into inaction, compromise or apostasy. When the mere threat of attack intimidates God's people; it is a sad day in the Kingdom of God. The overwhelming majority of Christians are pacifists when it comes to spiritual matters. They do not want to become religious zealots nor do they want to gain the distinction of being a “Jesus person” or a fanatic for Christ. Most Christians do not want to do anything that either disrupts their perfect little life or......
The inner workings of the "serpent"

I do not believe Genesis 3:1-7 took a matter of minutes to happen. I do not believe the “serpent” in these verses was a slithering snake. I do not believe the issue at stake was an apple. All of these misconceptions have entered our minds through paintings and storybooks. The reality of what took place thousands of years ago in God's perfect Garden must be understood lest we all fall prey to the same tactics Adam and Eve fell for and end up in the same state of shame that they did. I am of the opinion, based on what the Word of God says and not famous paintings, that the serpent was the most glorious and beautiful creature in all the Garden of Eden. This “serpent” was not some Godzilla looking reptile that scared Eve into eating an apple. The word serpent is the......
